I thought it'd be fun to see who else is currently waiting for their puppy.

What stage in the wait are you?
What type of doodle?
Color or gender preferences?

What stage in the wait are you? Our due date is Friday, July 10th so I keep checking my email frequently for any news. :)
What type of doodle? A mini ALD
Color or gender preferences? No preferences but expected colors are apricot, caramel and apricot parti.
Any names chosen? I think we are settled on Finley for a boy and still working on girl names.
Any favorite puppy items purchased? Nothing yet but my amazon wish list is getting big. But my favorite "fun" item are these cute custom dog ID tags I found on etsy. But since we don't know gender or have a name I will have to wait.

What stage in the wait are you?  My puppy hasn't been conceived yet.  I'm on the waiting list for Winter  (Jan-Mar) 2016.
What type of doodle? Mini ALD
Color or gender preferences?  Any color but medium to dark (not parti or phantom) because I don't want to minimize the 'red eye'/'stained beard' problem.  Female.
Any names chosen?  Echo is high on the list.  I haven't come up with better contenders.  I want something science-related.

    Since I don't know the color, I'm hesitant about names like 'Shadow' or 'Nimbus'.   I'm not in love with people or plant

Sorry, I messed up, and couldn't edit in time.

Color: any medium to dark color.  Not phantom or parti.

Name:  Want science related.  Echo is on top of the list so far, but I'd like to meet my puppy before making a final decision. I'm not in love with people or plant names.  Random?  I don't think ATP would be appropriate :-).

Puppy items purchased: none yet, but I'm almost certainly going to get a wire MidWest crate and expen, a Snugglepuppy, a Snoozer Roll Around Travel Dog carrier backpack  http://snoozerpetproducts.com/product/roll-around-travel-pet-carrie...; but not sure what size.

I need to read more dog training books. Since she will be my first pet, I'll be starting volunteering 1 hour/wk at the local animal shelter, hopefully to be a 'Dog Friend' and I hope I'm not signing up to be a 'Dog poop picker-upper'. 

I'm so happy to have DK available so I can learn from other joys and problems that other doodle owners have.

Ooh, that is a cool pet carrier! We have a trip planned around the holidays to visit family and I am considering bringing the puppy with us. This would come in handy!

What stage in the wait are you? Our puppy was born on July 18, so she's about 4 weeks old now. We expect to bring her home around Sep-11 and can't wait!
What type of doodle? Petite/tiny Goldendoodle
Color or gender preferences? I was hoping for a female and got one! She is a light caramel color with white markings.
Any names chosen? Her name is Piper.
Any favorite puppy items purchased? Not a lot yet--a metal crate, a couple of Kong toys, a cute collar, etc.
I've been reading Cesar Millan's "How to Raise the Perfect Dog" and am always looking for good advice. I haven't decided on what kind of food to give her and plan to research this--including looking at DK's group on this topic.

So glad I have someone else to wait with! :) Love the caramel color and the white markings will be so cute!

I'm about a week ahead of you. My pup just turned five weeks and gotcha day is Sept 5. We get matched up with our pup in two weeks. There are 5 boys and 2 girls. I'm hoping to get one of the partis. We have decided to name our pup River whether it's a boy or girl. We are getting so close! Hopefully the next few weeks fly by.

My kids don't know about River so I have been unable to purchase anything yet. Everything is in my amazon cart just waiting til we get a little closer. :) I did however order a clickit sport (harness for the car) because they were back ordered til the end of August but it arrived early. I ordered size small and since we are getting a mini I hope it's not too big. I plan on taking River for school drop offs and needed something so I know he/she can't jump out when our minivan sliding door opens up.

Any new updates? Are you waiting on certain parents or is winter timing better for you?

No new updates.  I'm not waiting on certain parents: I decided its better to get a dog more locally, and I guess they're in super high demand.  I suspect my breeder doesn't breed during the late spring/summer- she has a family and maybe they want to do normal family things like take vacations.  From the photos, it looks like her kids are or are nearing college age. I was originally on the fall/winter list, but I knew I wouldn't be able to get off work during Nov-Dec.  My breeder hasn't listed any litters since Jan 2015.
