Looking for an older doodle

Hi all, My husband and I are looking to get a dog, but are considering older dogs, not just young puppies. I've been contacting breeders and rescue organizations individually, but these dogs don't seem to be posted as much as the current litters. So if anyone knows of a doodle (anywhere from 6 months - 6 years, roughly) who is available for adoption, please let me know. We're open to both outright adoption and serving as a guardian home (for a male dog). We're looking for a dog within ~2 hours of San Francisco so that we could meet the dog. About us: We're a two-adult household, no kids and no other pets. I work from home so the dog would have lots of company. We have a fenced yard. On the weekends, we tend to be outdoors, often hiking and camping, and would like a dog that would be game to tag along. That said, we don't have any other pets or kids so we're not looking for a dog with a super-high energy level. We're open to a variety of doodles, probably in the size range of 40-60lbs. Have you tried Doodlerescue.org? You need to fill out an application so you can get pre-approved. That way when one becomes available in your area, they will have your info on file and can notify you. A lot of rescue never get published on their site because they find a pre-approved home before that is necessary.

Alex, there are always at least a dozen dogs in the DRC program who aren't yet listed or posted. There are two available right now in the San Francisco area. You should submit an application; it doesn;t obligate you in any way to adopt any dog, it costs nothing, and it helps your chances of adopting to have an approved application on file. DRC gets dozens of good applications for every dog in the program; if you wait until you see a listing that appeals to you, you will probably be too late.
