Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We got Nala when she was 8 weeks old from a breeder in Champaign, IL. At the time she was about 8 pounds. Her brothers were 11 pounds at the time, so she was the smallest. Today, at 12 weeks and 2 days, Nala is 12.5 pounds. Her brothers are already 18-20! The breeder estimated her to be about 60 pounds fully grown, as her dad is a 65 pound Standard Poodle and her mom was a 70 pound Golden Retriever. The vet said she looks good and may hit that 60 pound weight but she's unsure. Her weight looks like it'll be in the small/medium range but I'm not sure - she's gaining about a pound a week. Any other doodles that were small when young and grew to be larger? The breeder is kind of mystified - literally every other puppy from her litter is nearing 20 pounds. Pics just for fun :) the first is from 8 weeks and the second is from today.

Our Izzy was 8 lbs at 8 weeks (one of her brothers was already 13lbs!). At 12 weeks she was about 13 pounds. At 5 1/2 months she is close to 30 lbs! I wouldn't be too worried. I think they all grow at their own rate.
Maybe just a little gal? Moose was the moose in his litter of five and at eight weeks was 13.5lbs but one of the little girls was 7lbs. Loki was one of 10 and in the middle of his group and 9lbs however weights in his litter ranged from 12lbs to 7 or 6lbs, I can't remember which. Both of them came from the same breeder who I keep in touch with and all of them seem to be healthy and cute! I believe the pups in Loki's litter, now 17months have weights that range from 95-65lbs. Hope this helps! Both Loki and Moose are F1 Bernedoodles, their dad was 70lbs and their mom was 90lbs.- I think!
She is soooooo cute btw!

My Bailey is 4 yrs old and 30 lbs ....she is a mini.    There were only 2 other pups in her liter and they are both half her size!!  It was so funny to see pics of them as babies because Bailey was huge compared to her brothers... and she still is to this day!  It can be a surprise as genetics is so fascinating!   I think Bailey was about 23 lbs when she was 6 months old.  Your little Nala is adorable!

We got Kate at 17 weeks. She is now 16 months and is 49 lb F1 labradoodle. I was hoping she would be smaller than a lab. She is finer boned and hair is wavy.  She is a great dog and just right for us.

She sure is an adorable smaller bundle of cuteness.  "They" say that if you take the 4 month weight, double it and add 10 pounds, you will get the approximate weight of the full sized doodle.  I do not think this works for minis as they quit growing sooner.

Mine is a mini, she weighed less than 4lbs when we brought her home at 10 weeks.. Now she is a year old and weighs 14lbs. She was 7lbs at 4 months so she doubled her weight, so that formula was spot on in our case. With minis you don't add in the extra 10 lbs. However the breeder thought she would be 20-25lbs when I got her. She stopped growing in April. The larger pups in her litter were predicted to reach as high as 30lbs. You just never really know. But with your dogs parents fairly close in size, I bet she reaches close to 60 anyway. I think Annabelle just took more after her dad which is an 11lb poodle. Her mom was 30lb goldendoodle. Your puppy is cute and she looks about the size of my 1yr old.

My goldendoodle was 10 lbs when we weighed her at the vet at 8 weeks (we got her from the breeder at 7 weeks and breeder's last update on her was she was 7lbs - one of the smallest in the litter). Now she is 5 months old and 40 lbs. For the first few weeks she was gaining 2.5/3 lbs a week but in the past month the weight gain has slowed down to about 1.5/2 lbs a week. She is a standard with parents who weighed 70 lbs and 45 lbs. The breeder estimated she would be full grown at 60 lbs - the vet thinks she will be close to 70 - yikes! Nala is super cute - enjoy this time when you can still carry her around  :) because picking up mine now is definetly a work-out!

Our pup is 1 year old and around 60-65lbs. He was 18lbs at 10 weeks when we brought him home. You may have a runt there possibly. Our standard poodle was the runt of the litter and only got to be 45lbs at his heaviest. You never know!

Hanna is an F1 standard, Mom was 65 lb golden retriever and Dad a 50 lb standard Poodle.  She was the runt of the litter, weighing 5.6 lbs at 8 weeks.  At 12 weeks she was 12.8 lbs. She was 23.2 lbs at 4 months.   She is now 4.5 years old and seems to hold steady right at 58-60 lbs.  Hanna has a bit more of a "poodle build" then her sister who is usually 3-5 pounds heavier.

Your pup is a cutie!  Im guessing she gets close to 60 lbs.  Have fun with her !! : )
