What are you using for Heart Worm prevention?

I was told Triflex, Interceptor and other products are bad for the Sheperd portion so what is the next best option for owners to provide to their doodles?

You can have your pup tested to see if he carries a normal/normal, normal/mutant or mutant/mutant MDR1 gene.  Then you and your vet will know exactly what he can and cannot tolerate because dogs with the double mutant gene are sensitive to other medications as well, not just heartworm meds.  If you go to this site you can learn more and maybe send in a blood or cheek swab to confirm whether your pup is at risk or not.  You can send it from the US or Canada!
