I have a 9 month old f2 standard GD. He went through 6 weeks of board and train and did I complete 180. We work him everyday as told but he just doesn't seem to listen anymore. We use a pinch collar currently and we even leave the leash attached since he has been acting up. He is very dominant. We even took him back to the trainer for 3 days for a refresher and she said he was even more challenging. I was looking into a shock collar. I know a few people with doodles use them. I was trying to get advice on the best one. When I say shock collar I mean more for the vibrate and noise feature.
thank you

So Garmin was one my trainer recommended. He just called it Tri-Tronics and not much was coming up under that name. Now I realize that they are the same company. I guess you can't go wrong with a Garmin. So I think that is the one I am going with especially since my trainer is familiar with that brand and he will be helping with me in the training. I hope things get better for you.
Jess, I think she chose a GD because of the low to no shedding because of her son's allergies. Not that its has anything to do with the training issues just some added info on why she chose one.
I know Jane personally, first from watching how she dealt with the most difficult training challenges imaginable charting all her failures and successes and generously sharing her knowledge with anyone who asked or posted. Secondly I have met her and she really is the most wonderful and special person. I suggest that you look at the training group and search through all her advice there. I know that if I had your problems I would welcome her help with open arms.
Thanks so much, Nicky!
I don't use a harness. I have tried several different types and he pulls constantly. With the pinch collar it's not near as bad. He was trained with a pinch collar and all of the recommended trainers I looked at did also. He isn't responding to most commands now. He knows sit, down, stay, down stay, and off. I worker him 10 minutes a day twice a day with the listed commands. Now he is counter surfing, jumping up, chewing everything. It is to a point every time he poops there are randoms things in there. Not Good. I have already spoke with a trainer that will do off leash sessions with him with a mini educator collar. Hope this can help
Kimberly, when we were actually training our dogs we did a minimum of 30 minutes per day. Our dogs were not difficult dogs, but they really needed that much time. Perhaps adding a bit more time each day might help.
