Having a a very bad day today. Morgan my four month old ALD was in the vet office all day and I still do not know what is wrong with her and they charged me $1000, Last night we went to bed as normal. She goes to sleep with us hand them in the middle of the night I put her in her bed next to mine. She was fine. I got up at 6am and she usually wants to follow me downstairts. She just laid still. I talked to her and she went back to sleep. I kept checking her and finally I told my husband I think she is sick. We carried her outside to make. She was very weak. She did nake sis and PoopieThen she layed down. We had to carry her into the house. Called the vet. Away for the weekend. They left a number to call. We did . We had to take her to the emergency hospital. I did notice her legs looked a little stiff. They said she must have hip dyspepsia. They said they needed xrays. We said yes. By we questioned ...why is she so weak? Could tell us yet. After an hour they called us in and said no hip dyspepsia. running blood test. We said ok? When they called us in again they said she might have broke her leg. I said what do you mean you said the exray was normal. They pulled up the exray again and said see thisx line it could be a brake. We need to send it to a radiologist for $75 dollars more but can not get the answer until tomorrow. But we coulde pay an exytra $85 TO FIND OUT in an hour.......Back to blood test they said all normal. When I started questioning why they did they tell us normal xray and twenty minutes later change their minds? It was the same xray. To make a long story short they said they doubt she has a broken leg from looking at the xray a third time. There is still no diagnosis and they sent us home with pain pills and antibiotics. I don't know what to do. I am going to bring her to my vet on Tuesday when she returns. Oh I forgot. They said she has a fever. I am so confused. One Thousand dollars and no answers. Sorry for this long post.

The ingesting waS my initial thought to. Spike too had an identical situation. Identical symptoms. I really hope and pray that she can find a competent vet for Morgan. I know how scared she must be :(

Linda, I am so sorry to read about your troubles with Morgan.  One of my prior puppies once found and ate a straight pin while on a walk, and displayed similar symptoms (she recovered and lived to be 15). It happened on a holiday weekend, so we took her to an emergency vet that was affiliated with a specialty vet practice. When the emergency vets explained that they couldn't figure out exactly what they were seeing on the X-ray, we authorized them to call in their radiologist (worth every penny) and the problem was quickly identified and treatment begun. I would try to bring Morgan to another vet asap. A friend of my cousin's had a good experience with a Specialty/Emergency Vet in Westbury NY. If that is anywhere near you and you are interested, please let me know and I will get the details for you and try to figure out how to convey the information within DK rules.

Thank you Andrea, that was the vet we took her to. Thanks for trying to help Morgan.

It occurs to me that you posted earlier in the week about Morgan having stolen and eaten some Proviable capsules off the back of the counter. That wouldn't cause this, but I am wondering if there could have been something else on the counter or elsewhere that she may have gotten, either at the same time or since then?

How is Morgan today????

Hoping for a positive update...

Yes, me, too. Been thinking about Morgan and hoping all is okay.

Update on Morgan,

Doctor just called again after speaking to the radiologist. It looks like HOD. Puppies get this also from growing to fast. She is also going to test for Addison's Disease. She can't do that right night because she is taking Prednisone There  is a puppy virus the affects the muscles in puppies. A member on D & K told me about. Doctor going to see about that also. We have her pain under control and she is eating. I will update again when I have more information.

Glad to hear Morgan is being evaluated and treated.  I'm keeping good thoughts for you both.

Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed for the best outcome.

Best wishes for Morgan and your family...

So glad to hear she feels like eating.  Yeah.  Looking forward to update after all testing in.  Well wishes for you and your little Morgan.
