I thought it'd be fun to see who else is currently waiting for their puppy.

What stage in the wait are you?
What type of doodle?
Color or gender preferences?
Any names chosen?
Any favorite puppy items purchased?

Wow!  You're sure right - It looks like her coat has grown at least an inch or two!  I, too, hope it goes very quickly for you.  How exciting!

So cute! Getting close!

We picked up our puppy this past weekend. We had yet another name change. hehe. We ended up sticking with the name the breeder named him, Bogey. It was a really fun experience. It was a puppy pick up party so there were 3 other families there and we went over puppy care and had Q&A.

So far everything is going well. He is so smart. He is already learning sit and down. For the most part he is very gentle with the kids. When he gets really excited he starts mouthing. If we can't redirect him we put him in his crate.

He has slept through the night twice so far. :) He isn't a fan of his crate but will only protest for about five minutes.

He is such a joy. We are so happy he is part of our family.

PS. I'm going to try to change my name to Jenn and Bogey if I can figure it out.

CONGRATULATIONS on getting your Bogey! He looks so adorable! Gorgeous photo! How did the kids react? Were they surprised? We will be picking up our Piper on Saturday--any advice on what we should ask the breeder? We won't be having a Q&A--I wish we did! I'd like to maximize the brief time that we have with the breeder before we're off with our furry bundle! How was your 3.5 hour ride home with Bogey? Have you been referring back to Doggy Dan? ;)
My son was pretty even keeled. But my daughter was thanking me every five minutes and scared it was a dream. :) I found helpful that she went over basic grooming with us. We also discussed vaccinations. Her best piece of advice for us was that the puppies are like toddlers and most of the time when people start having issues is when they give puppy too much freedom. They need to earn it.

Car ride was good. For the first part I had him on my lap. He would alternate between crying and sleeping. About an hour in, we got some fast food so I put him in a Sherpa bag. Not a single peep for the rest of the car ride. So I would just suggest to have options. Also, you probably won't need to stop for a potty break (we never did) but just in case our breeder gave us some potty pads.

We did watch the five golden rules from doggy Dan the week before we picked him up as a refresher and have been trying to apply them. So far things are going great.

Keep us posted once you get Piper!
Congrats! He is beautiful! The name is so cute! What did you take with you for the drive home? We will have about 1.5 hours in the car.
Part of the car ride he rode on my lap and then the remainder he rode in a Sherpa bag. He seemed to be most comfortable in the Sherpa bag. Just have some options in case one thing doesn't work you can try something else. Breeder also gave us a potty pad in case we had to stop somewhere, but we never ended up needing to stop. We did make sure he pottied one more time before we left and the breeder fed a little earlier so they wouldn't have full stomachs.

What a darling puppy!  What a pensive look.  He sounds like he's just the right temperament, and so smart too!  How has the sling been for you?  What type did you get?

I got an Alfie pet sling from Amazon. We used it on the second day while we were waiting for my hubby to finish his first half marathon. My niece wore him the most so I don't have that much experience with it yet. We did have to wait about an hour and he stayed in it for the whole time with no complaint.
We pick up our puppy today!!! :)

Yay! I know how busy it is with a new pup the first few days so update us when you can. Congrats!
