Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Earlier this summer, I visited a garden and fell in love with the Rex Begonias I saw! They were outside in the shade, huge pots of them, all with showy, over the top, enormous leaves! Some had this spiral form to the leaf that was just beyond! I fell in love! I've since started a little collection of my own. I keep searching for spirals, might just have to resort to a catalog. The tiny ones in front are a hanging variety from a friends plant that I'm just starting off. The lime one in the back isn't a begonia (a zig-zag plant)! and the hairy one on the left is the new doodle variety!
Do any of you have rex begonias? I'll have to bring them indoors eventually, but it'll winter me over before I can get outside in the Spring and garden again! : )

Janie ~ you have an interesting collection of begonias. I had an Angel begonia that did not like our house. I gave it and a struggling orchid to the lady who watches the doodles when we cannot take them with us, and she reports their progress to me whenever I see her - or emails photos - they are thriving under her care!
I just googled the angel begonia, how pretty, haven't seen that one! Too bad you had to give it up but at least it is thriving! Now you have room for another! : )
Janie~ I thought about you this afternoon when I was at Home Depot. They had six rex begonias on the clearance rack for $2 a piece. If you lived here, I would have been delivering them all to you! I did score on some Cedar Grove potting soil (my favorite) Usually $5.99 a bag, and for whatever reason they were clearing them out at $1.50 a bag! I bought what was left on the pallet - 15 bags and it was $22.50, plus tax. I was thrilled. as I did not realize Home Depot had sales like that!!
Wow, what a score! You did good and I thank you for your good thoughts! I think I need to check out my Home Depot!
