Does anyone's older/adult doodles, (mine are 7 and 5), still have episodes of ZOOMIES?

I always assumed it was a puppy thing that they grew out of and just when I think Murphy has done just that, he'll jump up like lightning struck and start running around the yard, possessed! It only happens rarely, and only in the evening when he has a zoomie attack. Maybe 3 -4 times a year.

So do they ever really "grow out" of zoomies or is it once a zoomer, always a zoomer?

I chuckled at the thought of him having zoomies at a Trial. Probably not funny at the time but these zoomies sure show off their abilities to run like the wind without bumping into anyone or anything. I find them very agile, to do some of the zoomie stunts mine does.

All, you can do is stand and laugh, and apologise to the judge!!

Libby gets them when family comes over!  She gets so excited and happy that they just get the best of her!  She flies over the entire room and it is almost like we are playing Dodge Ball!  At times it is actually dangerous.  She is four years old.

Yes, they don't realize how big they are and the power of a flying doodle!

Eloise is approaching 4 yrs old and still gets the zoomies outside - usually when she's not ready to come inside when I tell her.  She has a figure-8 pattern she's always done, but one of the turns involves her going through (turfing) a mulch bed, which makes me crazy!  Neither girl does the "normal" zoomies in the house because it's mostly hardwoods, so not much good zooming space with appropriate traction, lol.  Beasley will suddenly pop up and spin around in circles on the family room rug - and those episodes usually involve her throwing a toy up in the air, too.  But I still count her as a puppy since she's just 18 mos.  Beasley zooms outside and she has an entirely different pattern than Ellie - but she also comes when I call her.  :)

Oh yes! There is no coming when I call during a zoom!  It's like he's in the zone and can't hear me. It seems most do a figure 8 zoomie. Murph still does with a few laps around the pool for good measure.

Sue, Oliver is going to be 7 ths year, and every once in a while, maybe 3 to 4 x a year, he gets the "zoomies." he runs thru this house like a dog gone wild, lol, I am so afraid he will hurt himself or run into something, but he dosen't, so i guess once a Zoomer, always a Zoomer?
