I walked into the bedroom tonight to get ready for bed and who do I see snuggling with my husband...?

What is this world coming to?  She's still there as I type.  She also visits him when he's in the bathroom and none else would dare enter.

Great photo Adina.  Now, when will you be posting one of you reading in bed with all the kids and dogs! LOL

OMD, is the sky falling?!!! I never thought I'd see the day there was a dog on your bed!

LOL, For some reason Flat Laurie was the first thing that popped into my head when I read your title on the main page.  :>))

Well she does get around...

Ha ha ha. Donna.

LOL...poor Flat Laurie is in a box in my garage :) Let me know if Clark wants her to visit.

Sanitary reasons aside, my dh and I actually look for the dogs if one or both aren't on the bed at night. It's come down to a comfort thing for both of us. We both miss them if they aren't in bed and find we end up looking around the room for them at night if they aren't in bed throughout the night.

 I totally agree with the pee on the legs and dirty paws, but for some reason, ( and I am a pretty fanatic housekeeper)  we overlook it or just don't think about it. However, it does create a little more laundry every week tho.

As for the foot warmer, I agree with Nancy. My two keep the foot of the bed toasty and we just put our feet along side them. They will move if we nudge them, but there are many nights dh and I are curled up along the side of the bed because  the doodles have stretched out all over. I know, crazy!!! I have a feeling there are many who can relate to this though, so I'm in good company.

But then again, we have always believed in the "Family Bed" practice and our human babies slept in our bed for several years, so it's all pretty much just what we do and wouldn't have it any other way.

It's all in what you're comfortable with.  I could never do the family bed.  I think it's sweet that others are willing to sleep all scrunched up in order to have beloved others in bed, though.   I'm selfish with my bed space and sleep comfort :-O

Goodness, I sound so cold and mean!  But I just can't.  I can't sleep unless my surroundings are under control and comfy.  A totally different thing than snuggling on the couch or bed with a dog while wide awake :-)  If I had time to be more meticulous about dog grooming.  I wouldn't mind that.  But I'm not.

It's funny, I could never sleep with kids in the bed, but dogs never bothered me. :)

I tried once with Thule after she'd had a bath and Clark was out of town. She buckled down into the center of the bed and then would not move until 4AM when I'd had enough and kicked her out of the room.

:-}
