I have a doodle who was 40lbs and she was just shy of 6 months. I really wanted to have a big dog and was wondering how much bigger your doodle got after 6 months old. I will still love her regardless just wondering how much bigger she might get!

Hi, I don't really have an answer to your question 'cause my Doodle is only 5 months old. But if you go to the "Groups" section of this website, look for this: "F1 Doodles". Then under that you'll find "Size of F1". That might answer your question. I found it and loved reading everything.

I just checked my vet records, and Winnie (a F1) was 38.6 lbs at 6 months. She reached her full grown weight of 56 lbs at about 10 months old and has stayed that weight for the past year. She is definitely a "big" dog- fairly tall, but lean overall.

Has anyone heard that at a certain age (not sure what age), you double weight and add 10 pounds. Did anyone read that?

Yup- 4 months. For us, Winnie ended up being exactly double her weight at 4 months - without the extra 10 lbs.

With F1 standard doodles the formula of doubling your puppies weight at 4 months with a variance of 5-10 pounds either way is pretty well bang on.  Myla was 30 pounds when she was four months old and she has been 63 pounds since she was one year old (she is now almost four years old).  Hannah, when Myla was six months old she weighed 45.6 pounds.  I initially wanted a dog that was 50-55 pounds, but Myla is perfect for us (except it's kind of hard to have her on our laps - even though it does happen).  A lot of our friends think of her as a large dog (they definitely look bigger when they haven't been clipped for a while!).  Whatever her size, you will think her perfect when she is full grown :)

I have always recommended the 4 month x 2 + 5/10pds formula over the years and it has proven time and time again to be a great guestimate.  My Bella was 28 pds at 4 months and hovers at 58-60 pds for over 3 years now. What was your doodle at 4 months?

She was 46 pds at 6 months to answer your question, and they still grow till about 16-18 months and seem to stabilize at that weight.

My big doodle weighed about 10 lbs per month until 8 months when he slowed down.  So at 6 months he was 60 lbs.  He topped out at 95#.  He is, I think, 27.5 inches at the shoulder.

Thanks all ! She is my first doodle and when I got her the breeder told me she had been bred with a golden retriever and a medium poodle so I was a little disappointed at first but it seems like she's going to be about the same size as a standard doodle.

Gavin was 61 lbs at 7 months and at 6.5 years he weighs 75lbs. He grew fast. He is tall and has the slim poodle type body and did not thicken up like the retrievers tend to do. He is also pure muscle because he gets a ton of daily exercise.
