For what it's worth, we were told the weight/size of a puppy relied on both parents.

I agree with what others are saying, each puppy inherits things from both parents. It would be impossible for all puppies to take the weight from only the father. My boys are 1yr 9mths (90lbs), and 9mths(95lbs) and their dad (standard poodle) was 65lbs and their mom (Bernese Mountian dog) was 85lbs. That being said Loki, the 1yr 9mth one, was one of 10 and the weights ranged from 60lbs- 100lbs as of current with most of the pups between 80-90lbs (I think). Currently in Moose's litter (9months) he is the largest but has a sister who is barely 55lbs, there were 5 puppies in this litter. Both Loki and Moose have the same parents. I think with mixed breeds the sizes vary sooooo much. My breeder had guessed Loki to be around 75lbs and for Moose, she just joked with me that Moose was the moose of the little and would be rather large- which was great for me! Hope this helps!

Definitely false,  size is based on both parents, and there can be different sized puppies within the same litter. You can tell by 6 weeks what general size that they will be.

Zack is 105 ponds and black, mom 40 pounds and white, dad 45 ponds and orange. His granddad was a large black standard poodle.

Just adding to the mix. Zoe's sire was a 75 lb full standard poodle, her dam was a 50/50 poodle, golden retriever at 45 lbs. She's 2.5 yo so fully grown. Zoe is really tall (27 in at the withers), but lanky at 48 lbs. So she definitely inherited from both.
