Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi all.
Nola is now 6 months old & up until recently, she has amazed me with how fast she learns & how smart she is. (Mama bragging much? We all know these doodles are smarties!) But little miss smarty-paws is all of a sudden being a piece of work. We have been really trying to get this biting/nipping to stop because she is getting bigger but we are still struggling with it. I hold on to hope that this is a phase that will end.
Housebreaking/potty training, whatever.... Nola caught on and barked at the door to go out since she was around 4months. I felt that things were going well in this department. She would have maybe 1 (poop) accident and then go a week without one and it was just an occasional occurrence. But! Now all of a sudden she is pooping in the house & not barking at the door like usual. It isn't every time she goes #2 that she goes in the house, she does go outside too. There isn't any particular time of day it happens but there are 2 areas that this generally occurs. (1 area is the bathroom, which the door is shut majority of the time & she LITERALLY runs and slams it open with her paws) I use the Natures miracle spray when I clean up but this is continuing to be a problem. She doesn't pee in the house, I honestly do not remember the last time that happened, it just is dookie! She is "fixed" now & I am wondering if this has something to do with that, it has been around 3-4 weeks since she got her lady bits removed.
Anyone have a similar experience/advice on what to do with this chick!?

No, she has been a "one n done" since we brought her home so I don't think that it's because she doesn't finish. Plus, this wasn't much of an issue (to cause concern) until recently.
Apparently webmd has everything. Lol

I just did a search for house trained puppy accidents starting and this popped up. It has the reasons why, then on the second page advice (pretty much what has been stated in here). But, a few other ideas to try.

Penny didn't get housebroken until 5 months. I thought this was extremely late for a "smart dog". Then one day, she just got it.

My Gracie is having a similar pee problem at 5 months!  She wasn't perfect before, but maybe would have an accident a couple of times a week. She has gone inside FIVE times in the last 24 hours in 3 different areas?!  She has a doggie door that she goes out often!!  This last time, she even went outside and came back in and peed.  So far, no poop accidents.

Any ideas on what might be going on and how to reinforce the doggie door and pottying (not just playing) outside?

I can't help you on the doggie door part, I've never had one. I put a gate up to block her from the area she was frequently going and it has stopped (knock on wood). If an accident happens, it's typically our fault bc we didn't hear her bark at the door. If yours is having that many accidents, are they smaller puddles than normal? Maybe have her checked for UTI if it continues. Also, what if you just took her out every hour or so (whichever the timeline is that she is peeing) with the leash, maybe it will retrain her to just go outside?
