Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Any recommendations?  We've started an endeavor in our house to be smarter / cleaner about products that we use for ourselves, and we also want to follow that through to our Australian Labradoodle, Flynn, as well.  I'm wondering if anyone has had good experiences with shampoos that are along the truly all natural / organic end of things.

Thanks!

Mane and Tail horse shampoo and conditioner is what I use on Abby, and have since she was a puppy. It leaves her coat soft and easy to brush out. It is also a people shampoo that leaves your hair soft and shiny. I have found it at grocery stores, Sallys Beauty Supply, and at random other places. It's actually fairly inexpensive and comes in a huge bottle. No fancy bottles - just big, white, round bottles with a silhouette of a horse on it. Give it a try.  :-)

I've never used them, but I've read that Organic Oscar are good products.

I like Mink Sheen, but it isn't all natural or organic. Just has some natural stuff added to it to make it smell and perform good!  :-)

We love Aroma Paws. It's an entire line of chemical free products for pets.

I absolutely second Aroma Paws. It is lovely and the ingredients are amazing. We buy a gallon and keep refilling the smaller bottle.

That's a good idea about buying a gallon. Think I'll give that a try too.

Ricki - do you recommend diluting, or use as is?

Linda, we dilute it to about 1/2 dilution and it works well. I think we talked before about Tara's sensitive skin and she does great with it at that strength. But there's no reason it can't be used full strength if desired. We've used it full strength before too and it's not harsh.

Thank you.  I will try it.

I have recently gotten into essential oils by Young Living for myself and my home products to be natural too, and now for our dog Bentley (they are the best brand) and love their Animal Scents shampoo.   It's been good for Bentley itchy skin and it helps repel pests.  I use their essential oils on him for fleas/ticks also so we shall see how they work.  He smells wonderful and it's all natural no chemicals.   Thieves oil sprayed on his teeth and gums is a great substitute for brushing and occasional cleaning with baking soda and thieves and a wet gauze pad.  I"m not sure if it is sold in stores or not.  I just joined as a distributor this year cause I loved them so much.
