we got ours purely by accident! I didn't want something too "poodly" so I picked a guy out of the litter that had less "crimping" around the ears and chest. Mine is actually and F1B. all the others in the litter are curly and fluffy. To tell the truth, my guy appears to have ZERO poodle in him in both looks and temperament/personality. AND he does shed (I suppose less than a typical golden retriever but not so sure). We love him but if you want guaranteed low/no shed, I don't recommend a flat coat. good luck!
who is the breeder in Ohio?
OMGoodness....His coloring is so handsome! But about the straight coat....I've learned from the experts that the way to "know" is by judging the curls & waves in the puppies ears, chest & base of tail....Given that advise, I'd guess yours will be wavy. I can tell you that I learned a lot from my experience as a first time puppy owner not knowing any better....My greatest concern was shedding so I naively left it up to the breeder to pick my puppy based on her experience. Our beloved arrived by plane & much to our surprise looks a lot more like a Lab than a Poodle. He's also a F2B Labradoodle BTW, which should have optimized our chances for shedding. Today he looks identical to the way he did when he arrived - Lab on the outside / Poodle on the inside. That said, we have a very smart Lab that sheds like no other given the Lab coat.
Of course...The picture on my reply is him as a puppy & if you click on my name you'll see him as he's grown too.
I was very concerned about allergies but he & my house are kept very clean so thankfully he doesn't bother me + it doesn't hurt that he's very loved.
