Does this happen to anyone else? People take pictures of Sawyer on the sly when at the dog park. It's sort of strange to watch people from afar get that cell phone shot. I really have no issue if they ask, but without asking is awkward for me. You wouldn't snap a shot of someone else's child on the sly, right? Am I being too sensitive?

I agree with those that said it would not bother them, or expect or care if the person asks first.  Just being out in public seems an assumed permission.  I would have a problem with a child being photographed due to the fear of what would the reason be and all of our minds could run rampant with what those fears are, but a dog?  Snap away, I find it flattering and yes, the few who have were looking for a doodle just like him.

:-}

hI, Paz and I live in Lower Manhattan where there are thousands of tourists wbo are constantly taking pictures of Paz.  I am actually flattered, so it really doesn't bother me because their interest is inspired by Pazzie's doodle cuteness.

No pictures that I'm aware of. Although we don't go to dog parks. But Annabelle isn't really what I would call a cute doodle. She got the short end of the stick in that area. She is mostly cream and her ears are short, we have to keep her hair shorter because I can't keep up with the mats. She had more attention when she was 4 months old or so, not any now. But we love her. She is a mini, she weighs about 15lbs. Maybe the larger ones get the attention.

I must disagree. Annabelle is a real cutie!

Thank you!!

Amy, I do think the larger doodles are more 'showy.'  People rarely comment on Ned - mostly I think they think he is a handsome, but ordinary,  small poodle; more comment on Clancy who is a bit bigger and has a more wavy-coated, Disney cartoon look. Annabelle is adorable, as is my Ned.

Thanks, Yeah, people think she is either a poodle or a wheaten.

Our kids had a photographer take pictures of our dog when we first got it - we came back and thought it a little unusual but I guess goldendoodles and labradoodles are very fashionable these days.  I haven't noticed people taking pictures but our dog gets stares and smiles, and if people know it's a goldendoodle they almost want to pet it - just to feel what the fur is like.  Your dog looks very well groomed and very cute, I can imagine a lot of people would want to gawk a little.

About the showy comment, I guess you're right.  When she was photographed she was wearing her sunglasses at the time.

this happens all the time to me with Theo! He actually stops traffic, people yell at me from their cars asking what kind of dog he is..how crazy is that?! It's certainly amusing how people freak out over him! At the dog park or walking on the street I've caught people taking pictures, video...you name it. Sometimes I feel like I'm with a celebrity lmao! I understand how it can be weird but it doesn't bother me and it certainly doesn't bother Theo he's a glutton for all the attention haha :)

While walking my doodle "Yankee" he decided to poo in a lawn on our walk. As he began his business a lady actually ran out of her house waving her arms, I thought she was going to chew me out for the dog doing his business in her yard, before she could say anything I waved my plastic bag for picking up the poo and said "I'm sorry, I have a bag to pick up his mess" she preceded to tell me "I just came out to get a picture of your dog so my daughter could see!" Whoo, was I relieved and shocked at same time. Yankee gets comments where ever we take him.
