Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This cartoon series is amusing. Add your own examples of what life was like for you before and after you got your doodle. (cartooning not necessary)!

Oh I LOVE these cartoons....and they're all true. We've had dogs our whole lives, so there have not been huge changes, but I will say that we seem to "spoil" the Doodles way more than any of our other dogs. I'm not sure why, except that maybe it's because we're retired now and have more time. We've had an Irish Setter, A Golden Retriever, a Lab, and a Dalmatian and they were all pretty low maintenance (well except for the Setter who was totally wild). They didn't go to the groomers...when they got muddy we bathed them and hosed them off in the back yard. There was no "Daycare"....they played together. I shutter to think of what we fed them....but you can bet it wasn't grain free. I never read a single book on training or feeding until the Doodles...I just "winged it". This has me really thinking about what has changed and whether the "Doodle personality" is what drives the way I treat my guys (they are way more needy than any of my other dogs) or if it's just me. Hmmm...something to think about.
This sounds so very familiar, Jane. I've also had dogs all my life, and until Chance I'm fairly sure they were fed Purina or something similar, never went to a groomer, etc.
I've loved all the dogs in my life.....but, they were not spoiled. It's difficult to pinpoint how/why Banjo is so extra special and treated more as our child than as our dog. In my heart, I think it's because to me, he looks like a little boy stuffed in a toy dog costume. My heart just melts when I look at him.
My heart melts when I see his photos, so I get it!
LOL--the cameral roll is a challenge for me also.
Oh, I loved this!
Perfect!
Yes! All of those things! We've made so many new friends all because of our furry guy!
