Last week Jade went to the vet due to a severe delayed reaction to topical flea medication and she was put on an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory.
The spots she had are clearing up and she is doing well (the sores on her belly are now just crusty). She's not been washed due to also having been spayed.
However, her nose and mouth also had swelling. She still drools a bit, but it's almost negligible compared to what was happening. She's been off meds for less than a week.
Her little lips are still a bit swollen and so is her nose. Her nose has also peeled almost all of the black rough nose skin off. All she has is a little left, but then smooth pinkish skin can be seen where it should be black dog nose skin (hope that makes sense).
Other than that, she is the same Jade she was before she got sick.

Will her nose skin grow back to normal? Is there anything I can do for her (vitamins? Lotion?)

Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear Jade had such a severe reaction. Which topical was it?

I wouldn't use any type of lotions on her nose without approval from your vet.

Vectra 3D.
Thanks, I didn't know if there was some sort of dog nose lotion. ;)
Poor Jade, glad she feels better. What did the vet advise for going forward with flea meds? Thanks.
We are going to go with an oral, Bravecto. It's a 3 month oral med that has very little side effects - the worst of which is diarrhea and vomiting. There is another oral one I found while researching online, but at the moment cannot remember the name.

I've had problems with topical meds purchased from the store in the past with Barkley (before I knew better). So, I really need something that will work on all 3.
