Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We've had our new rescue doodle (about two years old) just one week. She very sweet but extremely shy and unsocialized. Her coat is curly and soft on her head and legs and tail but her back feels wirery. She also has two light red wirery spots on her back.
any guesses out there?
Her name is Molly and we are so happy to have her.

Faye, congratulations, Molly is a beautiful Doodle. Give her some time to come out of her shell. You can't know what her two years have been like, you can only influence her future. Many rescues take time to "learn" about their new lives. My Ginger is 2.5 and I've had her for about 2 years now and she still exhibits some of her old fears. Lots of love and reassurance and she will shine for you. Again congratulations and you might want to come read some of the stories in Rescued Doodles Group and share some of your own, too.
Thanks for your reply, Lynn. How long before your doodle knew she was yours and not going to yet another home (Molly's story). What sort of fears does Ginger have? do you have photos posted of Ginger?
I will read the Rescued Doodles Group stories.

This was her first week with us.

This is Ginger now.

Ginger was 5-6 months old when I got her. It took about 2 days before she would let anyone but me touch her and about 3-4 weeks before she settled in. She is a puppy mill rescue and one can only imagine what she went through. She still has (at 2.5 years old) strange people issues and a deathly fear of strange men. She will still get touchy with her brother if he comes near her when she has a bone or special toy (he has been here about 1.5 years). If we go to the dog park, she sometimes will get paniky and other times she won't leave my side. You can read all my stories in Rescued Doodles. She is listed as LD, but many people say she looks like a GD.

On the plus side, she is sweet and loving with us and is especially bonded to me. She is princesslike here in the house and doesn't like mud on her or her chin wet. She sleeps on my legs and loves to snuggle in the lazy boy chair. She is protective and maybe the most precious dog I have ever had because she shows she knows we rescued her, everyday.
My guess is f1b labradoodle..especially if she has some coarse hair....She is gorgeous...with those caramel colored eyes!!!
Thanks, I think she's pretty darn cute but I'm biased. What do you think about those reddish wirery spots? Could those be labradoodle? Do you know where the wirery coat comes from?
my first thought to the 1st pic was Bedlington Terrier! http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0geu7hff3JJMFcBr...
but it could just be the hair cut she has... she's really cute though! hard to tell as a rescue dog, all you need to know is that she's finally happy!! Congrats!!
Bedlingtons are much smaller than you would think and have an odd curved back...though yeah the hair in the face is reminiscent of them!
Molly has beautiful!! A very sweet, adoring face.
Samantha is a F1 Chocolate LD. The hair arond her neck and down her back to her shoulders is getting wavy (but not curley)and coarse but still knda of smooth when you rub
I am trying to figure out the correct words to use when describing her legs and hind end but I am not sure what to use. A picture is worth a thousand words

Congratulations...she's lovely. I think labradoodle as first guess, but it's impossible to know for sure.
I would guess Molly is a F1B Goldendoodle from her coat. She is beautiful!
I'm thinking the same thing as Leslie. She has the same type of curl as our Gus does. He also has what sometimes looks like a stripe down the middle of his back which when you look close are Golder Retreiver hairs. As for how long it'll take her to settle in who knows. We've had Lilly since last March and she only now seems to be really comfortable. She'll now lay up on the couch with her head on our laps and actually go to sleep. Until a month ago she would lay there but always keep her eyes open and not actually relax. So give her all the time she needs. We seem to have milestones every month or so with Lilly.

Lilly the weekend we got her home.

A few months later
She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, whether she is a LD or GD, I know she is blessed that your family came into her life.
What a sweet faced doodle!!
