Judy just mentioned that it would be nice to meetup and do some RV trips with other doodle owners.

We live in Escondido, CA, north of San Diego and would like to meet some Doodle owners who take their Doodles camping. We own a Winnebago motorhome.

I am retired Navy and can get beach front RV spaces at Camp Pendleton and San Onofre for at least one other RV.

We don't smoke and drink only minimally. We are not golfers.

We are up for an RV get together almost any weekend. We have a Bounder and love to go. We often stay at the rest area on the 5 by Oceanside and go to the beach during the day just to get away. We live in Riverside and teach school so we also have a week in April and the summer time if others can get together. Is number of dogs an issue? We do have 2 other dogs (well behaved, non-aggressive) that also camp with us.. As a matter of fact, we are planning to take the RV out this weekend after my husband is done coaching on Saturday. Don't smoke, don't drink, enjoy board type games, enjoy reading, enjoy watching dogs....
The number of dogs should not be a problem as long as they are on leashes. We usually camp with Holly and at least two of our four Maltese. We often leave two with our best friends because they seem to want to "guard" our motor home and bark too much. They are just not used to having people walking around so close to "their home".

We will probably not be able to camp until sometime in March. The next couple of weekends are filled up and I will be having a knee replacement on February 2nd. However, any time after, say, mid-march should be good for me.
We are looking forward to meeting you at Huntington Park next Saturday. You can let us know when you are up to a camping outing. RV entries can be tricky on knees. My mom had two knee replacements that are wearing out after 15 years (she is 86 and just doesn't want to do it again) and has a little trouble with the stairs. On the positive side, her replacements were wonderful. She recovered so much mobility. Drs. were amazed. Our dogs do some barking but I think it is not too much. Now that Ned is in the mix, we are reevaluating this. I saw an indoor electronic barking deterrent something in the Drs. Foster and Smith catalog that I am going to order. I hate continuous barking.
I had my left knee done in 2001 and now it's time to do the right one.

We will be at Huntington Beach on Saturday. I am a tall guy and will be wearing a USC baseball cap and Judy is a shorter gal. You have seen pictures of Holly so we should be pretty easily recognized.
You've seen Ned's pictures. I am also short and my husband, Skip, is a big guy with a silvery-haired pony tail, sunglasses, and a cap with some logo. We think we will bring our other dogs - an English Springer Spaniel and a golden lab mix. We might change our minds about the other guys.
