Opinions on?  What type information are you looking for?  Breeders, mini vs. standard, are they good with kids? allergies?

I was a bit concerned that the difference between the size of a miniature poodle and a Golden Retriever would cause structural problems, I had a crossbreed dog who had a bite problem, he couldn't play with toys when younger and it caused bad teeth in his later years.                                                                                              I also wanted to ask about breeders but thought it was not allowed. Thank you for replying.

I also would be concerned about structural issues in an F1 puppy from a Miniature Poodle:Golden Retriever breeding.
You are correct that breeder recommendations, referrals and reviews are not permitted in the open forums. However, people can send you PMs if you accept a friend request.

I have a mini. She weighs 15lbs at her adult weight. She is perfect for my husband and I as we wanted smaller. While she was really shy and easy going at first, after the second week, all that changed. She wasn't the best puppy, she had an attitude and was nippy. But I had a personal trainer come to the house right after we got her. Then when she was 7 months old I put her in a puppy class, followed by an intermediate class. I continue to work with her a few times a week. But she is the the most perfect, well behaved dog now. Her first year she was a big time chewer, but not so much now. She was very easy to housebreak.

Thank you for replying, I am glad your lovely doodle is a good girl now,  15lbs is smaller than I thought they were, although I know they can vary.

Like Amy, we have a mini F1b goldendoodle. She is the offspring of a F1 35 lb female and a 9 lb poodle. Our Wynnie weighs 23 lbs and is the best dog that I have ever had. She came from a breeder who had her parents tested for all the things that Doodle Kisses recommends. She was a typical puppy with some biting and guarding issues but with the help of trainers, we solved the problems and she passed the Canine Good Citizen test at 1-year old. She has fun with agility, doesn't bark, loves children and is ever so sweet. Pick a really good breeder and you will be a happy fur kid parent.

A friend has a miniature multigen goldendoodle and he weights 38 lbs - as much as my medium ALD.  He is a doll and they keep his hair very short - he looks like a curly little lamb and does not shed.

I am looking at Australian Labradoodles too.

That combo of a full size GRand a minipoodle can go wrong and can be wonderful-I have an F1 mini-poodle lab mix and she is the greatest! Little legs and big lab body and all heart! See below!

But I will add that many mini-goldendoodles have moms that had a GR as a mom and a mini-poodle as a dad, so the moms are only about 30 -35pounds--then another mini-poodle is added in as the sire to the litter (an F1b) so that the pups could be 20-25 pounds.

Mathilda is beautiful.  I thank you for the info, it will help me come to an important decision.

I think there might be less concern about structural problems if you get a 4+ generation mini - mostly that would be an Australian labradoodle.

Thank you, I shall take your advice and others on, it seems to be going the same route.
