Yeti is almost completely vaccinated which means he can soon go on walks!!! Thank goodness!!! We received a gentle leader and have tried to put it on him numerous times to get him used to it howeve he fights it every time and we have had trouble figuring it out. Usually we just get frustrated and just put it away! So incase he truly hates it I was wondering what harnesses you have bought and liked!

Roo does not like his gentle leader, but it works great.  Mine came with a video that explained it very well.

Don't practice without the walk, the walk distracts Roo from making a fuss over the gentle leader, at least not much anymore.  He knows it means "go walk"

I have a drawer full of training harnesses.  I tried them all before I found this one.  Been using it for 2-3 years and love it.  You can use two leashes when training not to pull and then drop down and use like a regular harness once he is trained.

I used the Freedom No Pull when Asta was younger (he is 19 months now) and still use it when we go  to the dog park.  I started using the Kurgo harness when he got older and taller. The Kurgo is used mostly when we go out to stores, public events (parades, etc.).  He has no problem with either because he knows it means going bye-bye.

I just got a  week ago a Walk in Sync harness for my 4.5 month old puppy, so I think an evaluation by me would be rather premature.  There have been some discussions about harness safety lately. I thought that the late Sophia Yin's assessment  (a vet and animal behaviorist) helped me. https://drsophiayin.com/blog/entry/which-types-of-collars-and-harne...  When you use the Walk in Sync harness and attach your leash to the front ring, the harness tends to pull to the side of the dog when they pull.  The harness I got may be too large, but she may grow into it.  (Echo is currently ~9 pounds, and her parents were about 20 pounds. I got a S/XS size.)

Wynnie has used the SENSE-ation Harness for two years and it goes on easily and works very well.

Amazon has it and the following is a description from that site. I recommend this harness.

"Sense-ation is a no-pull dog harness that works wonders for positive reinforcement dog training, or just taking gentler walks with your pooch. An instruction booklet comes with all SENSE-ation Harnesses. The SENSE-ation is similar to the SENSE-ible Harness in design, however the SENSE-ation uses a custom Softouch polyester webbing for added comfort. The SENSE-ation Harness also features Duraflex plastic hardware, instead of metal. The O-rings on the chest and sides are nickel plated steel for extra durability. The curved side-release buckle and strap keepers are a plus. The girth strap, also called a "belly strap" comes in a coordinating color, making it easy to identify, and therefore easier to put on. The SENSE-ation Harness stops your dog from pulling, without choking, stress or otherwise harming your pet. You can use i right away - there is no acclimation period. Best of all, the SENSE-ation Harness is a favorite of positive reinforcement dog trainers and humane societies worldwide. Awarded "Gear of the Year" by The Whole Dog Journal, 2003."

Annabelle was like that. She hated it and fought me at every turn. Even if I was successful at getting it on her, she wouldn't cooperate for the walk. She was being stubborn because she didn't want to wear it.  I finally returned it. She now has a Ruffwear harness. Why she tolerates that one and not the gentle leader, I have no idea.
