Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello! I just noticed this group! I had posted on another forum earlier today. My doodle is 3/4 golden retriever and 1/4 English Goldendoodle. We were led to believe that she was an F1b with more poodle than retriever and it wasn't until she was 6 weeks old that we found it she was the opposite! We are hoping she will doodle out. Apparently the breeder was mistaken about the father and he was not the red standard poodle she thought. She insists that she will take on the doodle appearance and will not be a big shedder.... I disagree about the shedding but am hopeful she will doodle! Either way I lo K forward to watching her grow. I love seeing all the pics people posted here on this group! Check out the pics of Penny. The last one is a pic from the breeder at 4 weeks old... At that time I was already skeptical about her heritage!

Whatever he is...he's adorable. I've seen dogs with more poodle that look even less doodly!

I do think she will be Doodly. You can see the fur in between her eyes and around the muzzle. My girl does not have anything that "fluffy" on her face. As far as shedding goes, thats never a guarantee so who knows. I cant believe the breeder told you she would not shed. Penny is adorable!

The breeder was very defensive about the whole thing. I think she just wanted to push the sale through. She even commented that 'no one else cared.' I had no red flags up until that point. Other than the fact that doodles are adorable, allergies played a big part in me choosing an F1b. I knew shedding was a possibility no matter what but now it's almost guaranteed.

She is adorable and MUCH more doodly than my F2b... and both of my girl's parents were very doodly!  Regarding shedding, I've always had goldens which is why I went with a doodle this time... I LOVE goldens but not the hair everywhere.  Even though my Gracie looks almost completely like a golden with a delicate bone structure, she sheds MUCH less at 10 months than my goldens did... knock on wood that it will continue.  :)

I have never owned a GR myself but have spent a lot of time with them because they've been very popular with many in my family. Love the personality but the shedding is overwhelming. If my Penny sheds even a little less than a standard GD that is a huge plus! Your dog is beautiful! I'm loving this site and enjoying seeing all the different doodles out there!
Here's an updated pic of Penny at 10 weeks old. We are noticing more of a shagginess lately... Especially today after she swam in the lake!

It looks like she does have more hair growing off her muzzle!
Penny is 16 weeks old today. She has wings on her cheeks and bushy eyebrows. Recently we've noticed more texture in her coat.

Some days she seems very straight, other days she seems more wavy.

How fun to watch the change.  Her face looks pretty doodley to me. Thanks for the update.
