Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

When I say what kind Gracie is, I usually say she is an un-doodly goldendoodle from the start :)
Or, I say flat-coated goldendoodle
Rey like Penny, Gracie, my Wrigley are are gorgeous, smooth / flat coated dogs! I think when people hear the word doodle they think of curls & a ton of hair, & it's made for plenty of conversation on my end given that mine has a smooth coat & an open face (no beard either) People look at me like I'm delusional until I let them know I've had the DNA done & more Lab came through for Wrigs...I personally like the look so I've often said, "Brawn on the outside, brains on the inside." - Since you asked, I'll tell you about the rudest comment ever. One woman said, "Well, you know you could never show him. His eyes are the same color as his fur too & that's considered a flaw." I was pretty taken back considering that we think of him as the supermodel of the family but I looked at her & said, "Well, he doesn't have a job to do. Maybe he can be just ours to love." - Yep, that was the end of the conversation / inquisition. - LOL
He is gorgeous!
Melinda, I think your puppy actually will get more of the traditional Doodle look. I can see the wispy fur on her face. Sometimes they just take a little longer to get "Doodly". She does appear to be more straight coated than wavy but that could also change. Unfortunately, the straighter their hair is the more likely they will shed. But you will love her anyway!
I get the opposite question. Most people think Ned is a poodle - I sometimes correct them and say that he is a poodle mix or that he is a labradoodle. They are usually asking from their own frame of reference as to what THEY think the dog looks like and don't mean to insult the dog or you.
