Dirty Dog!

MonaChica loves to play in the sprinklers and is usually there on M-W-F when they go in the dog run area.  Then she comes and wants to come in the house for some play and attention.  Today I had to give her a bath because she was just too dirty for it to dry and fall off.

Thanks everyone.  She did fine with her bath today and I guess knew she was looking good.  She let me put on her halter and we went for a walk around the neighborhood.  We are preparing for the big day at Carmel Beach this weekend.  It is Poodle Day in Carmel and I love going and taking photos.

Awwww, such a cutie.  Are you finding that she is lots bigger than any of your other doodles have been? What about excitability? Calmer?

As a puppy,she is about the size of my larger doodles.l  As adults, Hondo was 105 pounds and Groucho Too was 85 pounds.  She is similar to Groucho Too, which makes sense since their fathers are both standard phantom poodles.  I think she will be about 70 pounds as an adult. Excitability?  Well, my words to describe her are feisty, independent, and sneaky.  No calm obvious yet.  She does keep the other dogs occupied, however.

She is so adorable, and is getting so big. Unlike last summer, Annabelle loved the water this year. It was hot and dry and she spent a lot of time laying in her kiddie pool. We were doing a lot of work around our back patio, so there was a lot of bare dirt around the area. She would get out of her pool and go roll around in the dirt. She was a constant dirty mess all summer. I probably gave her 3 baths a day, as she was too dirty to just wipe off.

We had two hot days last week and another expected this weekend, but it has been a cool summer.  This weekend is Poodle Days at Carmel so we will be on the beach.  I bathed the other dogs yesterday but will wait until after the beach for Harpo as he loves to run in the water and roll in the wet sand.  He always needs a bath after the beach.

I guess at least they are having fun. It has been more in the 70's now and the pool is put away for the winter. We had a lot of 90's and no rain for weeks and weeks. Glad that's over. Poodle Days sound fun.
