Hair Growth

This is Oliver, our 17 week old F2B goldendoodle. He's a sweetie and we love him. :) I've come to terms with the fact that he has an open face and won't have furnishings. I'm still really curious about what he'll look like as an adult, though. I know he'll definitely look more like a retriever than a poodle, but right now I feel like he doesn't even look like a golden retriever. We get asked if he's a lab. His hair is actually pretty wavy, but it's short. Will it get longer or is this probably it? Did any of your doodles have short hair at 4 months and end up with longer hair later?

Following ;) he is so cute! His hair has a lot more wave than Copper's hair does...i am assuming their hair will get longer... At this point Copper's is shorter than most retrievers.

Thanks! His hair is getting wavier and wavier but not really longer. Haven't seen many pictures of doodles without facial furnishing but with really wavy hair, so it's hard to picture what he'll look like!

Oh my goodness, what a cutie! He will definitely get fluffier. He reminds me of my Pippa. I am out of town right now and don't have access to all my photos but you can look at my page for Pippa's pics when she was younger. I think page 7 has pictures of her with a pumpkin. She had a rather straight tail with no fluff and not a lot of fluff anywhere. Today, she has the most beautiful tail and LOTS of fluffy hair. I can't post pictures on my iPad but maybe you can see some more recent photos on my page.

Thank you! I looked at your pictures, and wow! Your babies are all beautiful! And yes, I can totally see Oliver looking very similar to Pippa when he's grown. Which is great!

Thanks Carrie! When we go out, Pippa gets a lot of attention. I think maybe because she looks so different from the other two. People always want to know what kind of dog she is.

Wow, Oliver looks just like our Barnaby. He is a double doodle. His mom is a golden doodle and his dad is a labradoodle. I was a little bummed that he wasn't more "muppet" looking, but he is the sweetest dog and I think his coat will actually end up saving us tons of money in grooming costs. Very little shedding, which is why we wanted a doodle. His coat started off very straight, but at 16 weeks is now getting a lot more wave.

This is Milo at 10 weeks.. not sure how long his hair will grow either.
