Hello all! Yeti and I are in CGC right now! We are working on our training a lot during class and even more at home. Yeti has had some stomach issues so we have switched him to Wellness simple LID salmon and potato. Up until today he has been on a bland diet of sweet potatoes and boiled chicken. We have been using that for training because we had it on hand. Now that we don't have it on hand, i was wondering if anyone used any fruits and veggies that were healthy for dogs while training. I plan to use some canned food, as well as cut up pieces of chicken. We don't give him any store bought treats anymore since switching to an LID. Typically when he's a good boy we just give him a piece of kibble, but for training I would like something a little more enticing.

You could try small pieces of cantaloupe or baby carrots. But I really think the easiest thing would be Pure Bites treats. They are just plain freeze dried pieces of chicken, turkey, liver, fish, etc. Very, very easy on the digestive system, (they're the only treats JD can tolerate) and a lot more appealing to most dogs than any kind of fruit or vegetable.
That must have been one of those Labs who thinks drywall is a tasty snack, lol.
I know those - and they don't even have to be labs! :-}
Thanks so much everyone!! i will look into some Pure Bites :) Also, very thankful Yeti doesnt like drywall :-p.
Teddy loves baby carrots, blueberries, green beans, strawberries, and for a special treat, I've found Bixbi salmon or chicken jerky to be super effective- he loves both!
