I am just reading these boards as I am a new member. did you get the harness walking in sync? if so how did it work?
I'm of course not Jess, Loki, and Moose, but I did get a Walk in Sync harness for my mini ALD (at 7 months, she's now about 13 pounds). This is my first puppy, so I'm not at all experienced. Echo loves to chew on the leash, so its pretty frayed now. I think it does help somewhat. One acquaintance said that these no-pull harnesses don't work in small dogs. Its true when Echo rushes ahead, the harness shifts way over. But Echo is doing a better with walking now. I don't know if no-pull harnesses are more effective (?and needed) in larger dogs.
I just got an email from the person who makes Walk-in-Sync harnesses, and she said because of a death of Indie (?her dog?), she hasn't been manufacturing them since last April, but she's taking pre-orders now for late Sept.
Well, Echo is somewhat of a chewer, and she's almost chewed through both the Walk in sync harness and leash. I think they need to use heavier-duty webbing in the harness and leash. I'm trying a Freedom no-pull harness, and see how that goes.
I got a Freedom no-pull harness, and, though its easier for Echo to get her head in, the Freedom is much more complicated to buckle her up, and I don't like where it hits Echo's underarm. Echo walks better with the Walk-in-sync harness. What I'm planning on doing is buying some rock-climbing type webbing (from REI) and replace the webbing.
I also like the Walk-in-Sync leash than the Freedom leash. I like having a buckle in the person end of the leash. It made it convenient to tie Echo to me when I am bringing in groceries, or to briefly anchor her to something when I'm in the immediate vicinity. I'll try to report how the replacement webbing goes.
