Canned vegetables

My doodles get toppers on thier food, often times no salt added green beans.  I need to board them for a few days and was thinking of other non-refrigerated foods.  My other toppers are fresh or needs refrigeration.  I can get individual serving size of peas or carrots.  Has anyone used these items before?  Thanks for your input.

I've used canned no-sodium-added green beans many times over the years. Never used any other canned vegetables, but as long as whatever you buy is 100% peas, carrots, or whatever, without any added ingredients, you're fine. 

Another option for toppers that don;t need refrigerating would be some of the freeze-dried raw products like Ziwi Peak or Stella & Chewy's.

I have a couple bags of Ziwi Peak as emergency back up in case of an earthquake. As it approaches it's expiration date, I donate it and get more. I've let them have it a few times to make sure they like it and they do.

My girls have eaten a raw diet since day one (they are 10 and 6 years old). I use a grain free base from Honest Kitchen and mix in my own protein. Recently HK has come up with "Proper Toppers' which are great. Check them out.

We sometimes need a little something to entice Toby to eat, usually a good eater, but he does have his days where he doesn't want to eat. We buy either the 12 oz bag of ACANA  Heritage Meats formula kibble or the small bag of Orijen Regional Red formula kibble. We sprinkle a few kibbles on top of his kibble when he doesn't seem interested in eating and he loves it. When he goes to boarding he is more picky about eating so, when I pack containers of his kibble I add some of this in. There are other flavors but Toby doesn't like anything "fish" and he really seems to like the "red meat" formulas. It is kibble so won't spoil, and is easy to store. They are both healthy formulas. No refrigeration needed. We only use it when needed so it always seems like a treat to him. The Ziwi Peak or Proper Toppers also look like good suggestions.
