Puppy Coat predictions

We are first time doodle owners bringing our baby labradoodle home in 2 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone had a baby that looked lab that would share what they look like now?

Has the breeder given you any indication of what this pup will look like in the future? I think it will have an open face (no furnishings) a straighter coat and MIGHT be a shedder---I raise pups and if we have a pup like this, it will no doubt be adorable, but because it won't be "doodle-y" we find a buyer who is OK with that and they get a discount.

She said she will likely have a tiny bit of wave but she doubts that she will be completely slick like a lab. She and 1 of her siblings have this short straight coat. She was the last female of the litter. I love her sweet nature so will love her no matter her coat but I did hope she would at least be shaggy. She is so cute - I don't know how "doodly" she'll get, but personality is so important!  Their coats do change over the first year, so please post pictures as she gets older.  You must be so excited - two weeks isn't long, but it sure can drag when you're waiting to bring your puppy home!

Our Jake was pretty retriever looking when we got him.

The first pic is at 9 weeks when we brought him home.

The second pic is last week and he is 9 months old.

He is so sweet! He looks like he had a little shag/wave in the 1st picture? Gwen seems to have short straight hair. It's a bit wispy in some spots so maybe there is hope! Either way she will be more than loved!

This pup looks like a lab to me. Perhaps that is my interpretation because my daughter has a beautiful black lab.

I agree that she does look very much like a lab. Others in her litter had wave or a shaggy coat. Only one other seemed to be short and straight like her. Her momma is a beautiful black lab and dad is an Apricot and white standard poodle. We will see!
