first world problems

Ava loves the big bed. Let's face it, the bed is hers. And if I ask reeeeeealy nicely she will give me 6 inches to lay on too. But I wish someone spoke dog and could explain to her that turning herself into a 5000 pound rock and refusing to let me have even enough of the covers to cover myself up with is kind of stingy. 

Eating breakfast and then going out to potty is just exhausting! (I won the battle of the covers this time, but it was a struggle!)

Charlie is most definitely a bed hog- a 5,000 pound one also.  I am slowly teaching him to sleep at my feet - either that or he is slowly conceding me a bit more space.  We haven't ever had a dog who wants to share my pillow and throw a paw over my shoulder.

Ava will throw her arm around me too. It's like she's saying, "you're my person." I think it's so sweet. 

[Sue, Murphy and Bella ()*o*()]

My two have always slept with us, all 60# of each of them.  Most times they will go to bed before us so when we try to get in they pretend to play dead.  Murphy will quickly move to the end of the bed when I find him on my side, head on pillow.  He knows "the look".  Or I just ask him if I can please get in and he moves.   haha. Bella just lays at my feet, or actually at my knees and looks up at me and won't move a muscle.  She really just acts like it's her bed and she has to consider whether or not she will let me in. She will move, slightly, if I put my cold feet under her. But just slightly.  If either of them get out of bed, we feel guilty and beg them to come back!!!  What is wrong with us?

Nothing is wrong with you! Or if there is it's the same thing that's wrong with me. This is the first time I've ever had a dog who wouldn't just scoot over for me when I got in the bed. And while it's a bit of a struggle I am glad that she seems to know that she's so loved that she belongs in the bed. She's not rude about it at all, she just doesn't move!
