Suggestion needed. Hazel is about to outgrow her freedom harness. I have see that most of you recommend the easywalk harness. But I have read that it can cause sores on their chest. Have you had this happen? Should I just upgrade to the next size of the freedom harness.

I BOUGHT THE WALK -RIGHT HARNESS AT TRACTOR SUPPLY FOR TURBO AND IT WORKED VERY WELL. nO SORES AND NO RUBBING ON THE CHEST. I ONLY USE THE HARNESS WHEN WE GO OUT AND I CAN TAKE HIM IN THE STORE WITH ME OTHERWISE TURBO RUNS FREELY IN MY YARD. HE HAS A PLAYPEN WHERE HE DOSE HIS POTTY. I HAVE AN ACRE OF CLEARED LAND AND HE HAS BEEN TRAINED TO STAY IN THE CLEARED ACRE AND NOT GO INTO THE WOODS.  TURBO IS 80 POUNDS AND HE STAND 28 1/2 INCHES TO THE SHOULDER AND HE IS 14 MONTHS OLD.

What I understand about these type of harnesses is that the compression on the shoulders can be injurious, and if you use one, don't have them wear it for that long.

I use the easy walk harness for my little puller and also for my daughters Golden Retriever. Works great and neither have ever had any sores on their chest.

I think the problem, Lori, is that some people have their dogs wear the harness like a collar. I know when we have our romps some of the people  who use harnesses just keep them on the whole time.

I have seen that and I always feel sorry for the dog. It only takes a second to unbuckle that harness. It was not meant for playtime!

YUP!

I've used both and I personally prefer the Freedom Harness.  I like the way it fits my girls better and I also like that I can buckle it on the back of the shoulders or in the front.
