Penny... 3/4 golden retriever, 1/4 F1 goldendoodle

Hello! I just noticed this group! I had posted on another forum earlier today. My doodle is 3/4 golden retriever and 1/4 English Goldendoodle. We were led to believe that she was an F1b with more poodle than retriever and it wasn't until she was 6 weeks old that we found it she was the opposite! We are hoping she will doodle out. Apparently the breeder was mistaken about the father and he was not the red standard poodle she thought. She insists that she will take on the doodle appearance and will not be a big shedder.... I disagree about the shedding but am hopeful she will doodle! Either way I lo K forward to watching her grow. I love seeing all the pics people posted here on this group! Check out the pics of Penny. The last one is a pic from the breeder at 4 weeks old... At that time I was already skeptical about her heritage!

She is very cute. I have a pouter when he sees the camera and one who pretends he doesn't know the stay command.

What a transformation!  She is far more doodled-out  than I expected, even though her hair is more straight and shaggy.

Our F1 is a lot less doodled out so far at 19 weeks.  He looks like a skinny lab with a beard.

So much variation and genetic dice rolling with this breed.

Thank you! We never expected handsome when we decided to get a dog. Cute yes, but it's the word we use the most too. Penny is a doll. Must be the golden retriever in her that makes her shed. Gunnar's hair is straight and short like a lab with only a little curl, but once he lost his puppy coat at about 18 weeks he has reduced the shedding a ton. You can still find the odd stray hair, but it's way less than a standard lab or golden.

She has more wave on her back. She is definitely straighter in some areas like the chest. A heavy shedder for sure! Here's a pic earlier this winter...

Hi all ! This is Milo at 10 weeks. His mom is a very curly goldendoodle while the dad is a purebred golden retriever. Will he be doodley ? I guess we'll have to wait and see :-)
