We have been feeding Myla Acana Heritage Cobb Chicken and Greens for a long time now.  She loves it and does really well on it - the problem is me - I think she might like a change.  I would love to switch up her "flavours" once in a while.  I find the price differences a bit overwhelming.  I pay $56. for a 25 pound bag and that is fine but when I look to buy a different "flavour" it starts at $73. a bag.  The only different one that is in the same price range is the Heritage "Adult Large Breed".  When I am in the store, I second guess myself and think "does she really need a change that costs $20. more per bag?".  I have two questions.  Do you think that the Heritage Adult Breed would be a 'change" for her and if not, do you think that she needs a change?  She gets fed twice a day and absolutely loves her food - if we don't happen to know it's 6:00 pm she will start "talking" to let us know it's time to be fed and she gobbles it up immediately.

Nicky, we have to purchase 11 or 12 bags!  Our store lets us meld the Acana and the Orijen together, but they do want the same size bags purchased.  They don't check though.

I went to buy Myla's dog food today.  The price has gone up - The Acana Heritage Cobb Chicken & Greens for a 25 pound bag was $63.00.  I checked out the Orijen quickly and the cheapest 25 pound bag was $96.  When I buy 12 bags I get the 13th free - They did have a time limit of 16 months but have now extended that to 24 months.  I used to buy my dog food at Bosley's (I don't know if you have that in the US?) - the location was way more convenient for me but the price of their Acana was $5. more per bag than Total Pet.  When I questioned them about that they said that they didn't know how Total Pet had that price because Acana dictated what price it could be sold for.  Not sure if that's true, but I have been buying at Total Pet for the last three years and every time I go into Bosleys I check the price and it's always more expensive.  Weird!  I have decided to keep feeding Myla the same food (thanks for all the advice) and just change up her treats.

We don't change our dogs' food very often.  They get what they get and they eat what they are given.  Two of my guys inhale food and one is picky.  I simply don't cater to picky, so he eats.  He LOVES Orijen adult, so there is no picky. It has become so expensive that we switched to Acana (Mr. Picky wasn't pleased) but our local pet store began charging the same for Orijen and Acana, so we switched back to Orijen.  Adult/Original is the cheapest Orijen so that is what they get.  Day in and day out, month in and month out.
