This how Toby looked when he got up this morning. Immediately called the vet this morning, we have an appointment at 1:30pm. He was treated for Uveitus in April of 2015, also for the cloudy eyes. No discharge from the eyes. (It was also mentioned to us at that time that a tumor behind the eyes could cause this, although meds treated the eyes successfully and they didn't feel we needed further testing at that time).  Something comes to mind.... when this happened in April, 2015, Toby had been at grooming the week before. We had let our groomer know about his eyes, and she said there was nothing she would have used that could have caused this. She has been grooming him for years, is good with him, we always stay and wait for him, never leave him because he is always at risk for seizures, and not many groomers will accept him. Toby was just groomed last Wednesday. Just a thought. Has anyone had this happen, would there be any possibility that his eyes are super sensitive to something she may be using during the bath? He has so many issues and is so sensitive to everything. Have any of you seen this before, and any thoughts on  this?  Asking for prayers for Toby today.

UPDATE: Eyes are clearing up, left eye still pretty cloudy, right eye has made big improvement, still have a ways to go, but I am so happy he is improving. As of last night he was able to follow us and see his ball, that's a very good thing! I do have a call into the vet, he is now vomiting everything up. His stomach was quite unsettled last night, had to get up a couple times through the night to go out, which is very unusual for him. He has very loose stools now.  He is also refusing to eat, his meds require him to eat, he has even vomited up seizure meds from this morning...we have tried small pieces of burger, chicken, watermelon, canned dog food, even tried wrapping his phenobarb in a small piece of cheese, no luck!  Vet told we could give him Pepcid Ac if he got an upset stomach, we have been giving 10 mg tablet twice a day since he started on the meds. Thank goodness we have a SpotBot!

What  a dramatic difference.  At least his eyes are on the road to recovery.  I am not a medicine person at all, but isn't Rimadyl a pain med?  If it is a source of pain for him, could you eliminate it?

Rimadyl is used for pain, but it's an inflammatory too, and uveitis is an inflammation of the eye.

Karen, is there an alternative med that would be better with less side effects, that I could ask the vet about tomorrow? it is obvious he can't handle the rimadyl, at least we think that is what caused the tummy issues. She said we would start back only on the Minocycline after our appointment tomorrow.

Jack can't take rimadyl because of his IBD; he gets tramadol for pain. But tramadol doesn't have anti-inflammatory properties, it's an opioid, and it may be contraindicated in dogs with seizures. Doesn't hurt to ask your vet.

I will have to check Toby's records, but I think we were told back when Toby had his ligament surgery that he could not take Tramadol because he was a seizure dog.  I will ask the vet, it should be in his charts.

I know how hard it is when one disease limits your treatment options for another one. Forgive me, DK censors, but it sucks.

Yes, his eyes have improved quite a bit today. Rimadyl is a pain med, we were told Utevitus can be quite painful, but it looks like we will not give any more of that. Hopefully then we will get the tummy issue under control. Now with the seizures, he will get extra seizure meds until he goes 24 hours without a seizure. (His seizures are almost all clusters now, several over the course of 3 - 5 days) So he is on a lot of meds right now. So anything we can eliminate will be helpful, especially with the side effects.

He looks so much better! I'm so glad. Hugs to Toby!

Thanks. We are making progress with the eyes! He does look so much better tonight!.  It was pretty scary the way he looked a couple days ago.

Oh boy, now we can officially add seizures into the mix this week...ugh!  :-(    I normally do not put him in the car after seizures because he clusters and it is very scary to have him go into a seizure while I am driving....

It is no wonder with different antibiotics, antiinflammories etc. that he has nausea vomiting and the runs. Now you need something to help with that. On the other hand that his eyes are responding is great news and vitally important. Keep up the good work :)

I know, I have never liked adding meds because he is on so many already, and it's really unfortunate that trying to make one thing better causes a whole new issue...that's why we try to minimize meds as much as possible and keep everything as simple and basic as possible for Toby...and now, somehow, he needs to be able to keep his seizure meds down...
