Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I finally got to use my clippers for the first time. I'd have to say I didn't do too badly for my first time cutting Chloe's fur.  She is SO good on the table....such a model student LOL

I need practice on her face though, not sure if I care for it...may still trim it a little.  Any tips and tricks you can share for scissoring her face?  I like to keep furnishings and her beard and ears a little longer, but am still going for more of a cleaner cut I guess.

Before and after pictures attached.

Cloe looks really great! I have attached a picture of Zoey and it looks like they have a similar coat. What did you use on your clippers. What blade? Guard? You did a great job! Sheree

Zoey is adorable!  I love her colour! :)   Yes, it does look like they have similar coats for sure!  Chloe's is pretty curly and VERY thick.  Thanks for the compliment :-)  I took my time.  I used a 30 blade with a 1/2 inch guard, but did a 'smoothie' technique so her whole body is very smooth and same length except for her face and tail of course.  I scissored her legs with curved scissors.

Great job!! Curly coats are tough to get looking good. Our Aussiedoodle has a super curly, thick coat and I struggle with it. You did a great job!

Thank you Kamela! The only part I had a hard time with was where her collar sits on the back of the neck and also at t
