Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi!

Do any of you standard goldendoodle owners remember what your pup weighed at 11 or 12 weeks? I am super curious to gauge how our buddy is growing compared to his peers and how big (or not big!) he might get! :)

12W 4D 15.6 lbs

Jack 12W 4D

15.6lbs @ vet

JACK 17W 6D

18W today 29.2 lbs.

I forgot to mention Jack is a Standard Goldendoodle- his mom is a Golden Retriever and dad Poodle

Myla is an F-1 standard doodle and is 5 years old.  When she was 12 weeks old she weighed 20 pounds.  She now weighs 63 pounds and has been since she was 1 year old.  I just looked at her chart and when we picked her up she weighed 12 pounds.  It looks like she gained an average of two pounds a week for quite a while. There's a pretty accurate formula for estimating adult weight that has worked for most of the doodles on this site.  Multiply their weight at 16 weeks by two and add five pounds.  Myla weighed 30 pounds at 16 weeks so it was pretty much bang on. George is a cutie, that's for sure!

Marley was approximately 21 lbs. at 12 weeks. He is now almost 16 weeks and is 30 lbs.

Wow Henry and Myla could be twins with their growth progression! Henry had the exact same weight at the same ages. He was 13# at 9 weeks, 20# at 12 weeks and 30# at the 16 week mark and was 34# at 18 weeks. We figure he is going to be a good 65# by his first birthday which is 11+ pounds more than mom or dad. Henry is a multi-gen ALD.

Hanna weighed 12.8 lbs at 12 weeks.  She is now 6.5 years old and weighs 60 lbs.  She is an F1, her mom was a 65 lb Golden Retreiver and her dad was a 50 lb Standard Poodle.  She was only 5.6 lbs at 8 weeks (she was the runt) but she made up for it eventually !

I think our guy is a bit on the small side -- he is only 11.5 pounds at 11.5 weeks (and he is a standard). Should I be worried? How do I know if he is under-weight?

Doodles vary in size--sometimes 30 pound mommas have 50 pound offspring since there is a lab in the background and those genes come out--in your case, your pup may just be growing a bit more slowly or he may have had a smallish ancestor and got some of those size genes. If you can just feel his ribs slightly and his spine but his hip bones are not protruding, he is the right weight. At 16 weeks, you can double his weight and that will give you a good idea of adult size. If he is 18 -20 pounds by then, he will be in the 40-50 pound range usually.

Hi! I'm Tucker! My mom Sheryl just weighed me today at 11 weeks and I'm a solid 17.2 pounds! :) Not sure if that is considered big or not but I sure do like eating!

This is HILARIOUS!
Hehe
:)

Dante is supposed to be a medium sized doodle - he is the 4th breeding of a 48 lb mom and 28 lb dad that produces dogs in the 40-50 lb size for each breeding.  Then there is my Dante - he was 18.5 lbs at 12 weeks.  He's 5 months now and weighs 38.5 lbs.  So not thinking he will be 40-50 lbs.    My guess is 60+.  Cross breeds are a roll of the genetic dice - you just never know!  He was 28.6 lbs at 4 months.

Edie and Dante

Myla was 40 pounds at 21 weeks and ended up being 63 pounds so I think Dante will be at least 60 pounds too!  Definitely a roll of the dice but they are so gorgeous, no matter what size!
