Hi Jean - matts can appear so quickly. I would really recommend that you join the Doodle Grooming group (http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/doodlegrooming) There is a ton of information on that site, including what type of brush is best for each type of coat. We groom Myla ourselves and I went to that group for information on what type of clipper was best to use and what attachments etc. Good luck!

I have found that this is the only brush that works for really matted hair. Try to keep your fingers between the dog's skin and hair, as the brush can irritate the skin if it scratches.

And this is my preferred grooming comb.
I use LesPoochs slicker brushes and a Chris Christensen pin brush and a steel toothed comb. Ned's ears are very thick so I brush them on both sides with the slicker brush and the steel comb.
