Houston
Just got back from Houston. It was amazing! My sister's house is safe (elevated 57 inches) but the four outbuildings all flooded. Her car was hauled off and the neighborhood is devastated, but everyone was okay. I brought my mom home with me to Oregon and that was not easy to do with cancelled flights, closed airports, roads out and detours everywhere. But Mom and I got home on Wednesday night (Sept. 6). Now we are watching the news from Florida. The times, they are a changing.

I am so glad you were able to get your mom to your home. At her age, that must have been a major feat. I am glad that most of your sister's belongings were okay.

Glad your mom is safe and your sister too--Houston has been forgotten with all the Irma/Jose news! When it is all over, we need to help everyone! Lots of my friends in Florida that have stayed in their homes are terrified.
