Hi Sandy - I am so sorry that your doodle has been diagnosed with IBD! I do not have any advice for you as I have never experienced this but I can tell you that the expert on this is Karen and Jackdoodle and I know she would have answered your post immediately!. Heartbreakingly, Karen just lost her Jackdoodle today due to bloat and we are all in mourning. I am including a recent post on the issue for you and if you go to the search bar at right hand side of this page and type in IBD you will get different posts that might help you right now. As I said, Karen is the expert on this and we all rely on her to give you the best information but she is obviously not able to right now but I hope that you can get some information from previous posts and hoping that someone else with experience can give you some advice! Keep posting with questions as I know you must be really upset with the diagnosis!

Sandy, one of my non-doodle dogs had IBD, and at Karen's suggestion, I found a lot of information on the Yahoo IBD site. It's a nasty disease, but it can be tolerable with careful treatment by an Internal Medicine Vet.
My eight year old ALD was also diagnosed with IBD by an Internal Medicine Specialist after conducting an endoscopy. He was in a very serious flare at the time. It is something that has to be continually managed via diet and medication. I also have an ALD who has IBS, which is different and much less serious than IBD. He is controlled only via diet restrictions and does not have to be on medication. How was your Doodle diagnosed? What are the symptoms?
Karen has tons of knowledge and personal experience. Her beloved JackDoodle passed away yesterday. I am sure she will post on this discussion as soon as she feels up to it. In the meantime you can try researching for discussions on this website. I know Karen feels strongly that the dog have the appropriate tests by a specialist and continue under their care to have proper management of the disease. She has also mentioned that there is a support group or support groups for this disease. I can't find the link she has shared.
