Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My almost 8 month old doodle is shedding more and more. She is not a fan of the furminator. I had her groomed into a shorter coat and have been brushing her on a regular basis, but can’t seem to get ahead of it. Does anyone have any ideas other than the furminator on controlling a shedding doodle?? Hair is everywhere!!!

I really hated to cut her since she was finally starting to get some “doodle look” to her, but was hoping it would help.

She may be transitioning to her adult coat, and if so, the shedding may lessen a bit once that's done. But bottom line, some doodles are heavy shedders; mine was. And there really isn't anything you can do to stop, slow down, or controll shedding.

I saw a decorative sign in a store the other day that said "Loyalty & Love  It's worth all the dog hair!" I wish I had bought it. I may have to go back to see if its still there.

Ashley, what Karen said is right. But what an adorable shedder! One of my doodles is a major shedder. He isn’t as much of a shedder as my daughter’s lab, but only because his gatherers in dust bunnies. We have hair everywhere and if I want to wear the black jeans I unwisely bought, I would need to put them on on our front porch.
