Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just curious about what people paid for their F2B GoldenDoodles ? Is it non shedding? And is it curly or wavy? Color too. With so much variation out there, I'm just curious.

In my opinion if you want a nonshedding dog get a poodle. If you want a doodle and non shedding then get an ALD, Australian Labradoodle, from a qualified and experienced breeder. Make non shedding and tmeperment.your first choice in getting a puppy and color etc much less important. Also know that a nonshedding dog comes with a price, their coats require a lot of upkeep whether they are curly or wavy or fleece or wool. They will need to be brushed every other day and groomed every 4 to 6 weeks either professionally or by you. The alternative is to let them grow out with little or no brushing and then have them shaved close (1/4 ") and start over. That said I think ALD's are worth the effort, they are awesome dogs.
If you are looking at a flat coated doodle puppy with no facial furnishings, you should be paying less, simply because those are the pups that are harder for a breeder to sell - and they will shed a lot. F1B (back to a poodle) can still result in a retriever looking doodle. F2B back to a retriever is not considered good practice. That being said, you should not be paying extra for coat type (wavy, curly, straight, fleece, wool etc), or color. You should look at the guide to finding a breeder to help you choose a reputable breeder. Here is a link: http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/What_To_Look_for_In_a_Breeder
In my opinion the choice for the most consistent dog would be multi-generational Australian Labradoodle, however they are the most expensive option. They have more resemblance to their parents when you get down to 4th or greater generation. If allergies are your concern, I'd opt for a for-sure non-shedding breed and cut them longer.
Temperament is the most important thing in a dog that will be in your family for 12-15 years. However, wanting your dog to look a certain way is not a bad thing and a purchaser can do both.
