Those Who Have Healthy Paws Insurance, How Much Have Your Rates Gone Up Each Year?

I know we have had discussions here about the large annual increases people have experienced with PetPlan insurance. I'm wondering if those of you who have Healthy Paws insurance have experienced similar annual increases?
I'm trying to decide between the two companies. :)

Congratulations, Karen. How exciting..., will watch for your announcement!

Thanks, Debbie. Exciting and nerve wracking; I haven't had a puppy in 28 years!

Will be a very lucky puppy ....

Same here, when we got Annabelle. We had the miniature schnauzer when my kids were very young. The next dog after Toby passed, was the 18 mo old rescue Golden Retriever. After he passed we were empty nesters and both working full time jobs. So we remained petless until we retired. Then I had puppy fever so bad. My oldest was 5 when we got the schnauzer and now she is 40.

I've never gone more than 4 months without a dog, lol. But my last Poodle was born in 1990, and after her I got Jack, who was an adult when I adopted him. So 28 years between puppies, but never dogless.

Congratulations, I am looking forward to the announcement.

I enrolled Belle in Healthy Paws when she was 9 weeks old.  She has 90% coverage with a $500 deductible.  There are no lifetime, annual or per incident limits, which was important for me because I previously had uninsured dogs who developed chronic conditions that required punishingly expensive tests, surgery and/or prescription medications.  The premium for Belle in the New Jersey market started at $32.49 in 2015 and is now $38.48 3 years later.  Whichever company you choose, I'm glad to hear you are insuring your pup, and sincerely hope that you never have to make a claim.

Thanks for this info, Andrea.
Healthy Paws quoted me $38.22 for 80% coverage with a $250 deductible for a brand new 10 week old Miniature Poodle puppy.

I have a hard time believing that the Chicago suburban veterinary costs are much higher than they are in NJ.
I was also given the run around about a non-existent discount.
Very disappointed. With their being rated #1 and so many people complaining about the big annual increases from PetPlan, I was all set to go with Healthy Paws, but I am now rethinking that. I hate to say this, and it's based on very limited experience, but so far, PetPlan seems more honest in the way they do business.

Karen,  I'm sorry to hear Healthy Paws is being difficult.  I have, fortunately, had no need to contact them since the initial purchase, so only know that their representative was very helpful then.  Have you looked into Trupanion? One of my sisters uses them for her Viszla and is happy with them.  I'm so glad to hear you are letting a new puppy move into your heart next to the place that will always belong to JD.

I've pretty much made up my mind that it's going to be PetPlan or Healthy Paws. I like their ratings and customer satisfaction best.

Yes, my heart will always belong to JD. But life without a dog is just not possible for me. It will be interesting, lol.

Karen are you saying $38.22 per month? $458 per year?

YES!!!!! For a 10 week old healthy puppy!!!!
