Jared emailed me =  "We do a doodle romp each month at a different dog park. For the international doodle day we are having doodles come from San Diego, Orange County and LA County come together for the largest doodle get together in the country. On May 6 across the country we have been working with the company  Ripley and Rue who made this event 2 years ago to celebrate the doodles. If anyone from your group would like to join us please have them sign up as only those dogs will be be able to receive prizes from our sponsors. "

Parking may be a problem with that many cars.  Those in our S. CA. group are invited to Brunch after the Romp at our usual place.  I'd love to hear from you if you are planning to attend.  We will be bringing only Hershey as I think this romp not appropriate for Sydney.

Brunch: 12 noon to 1:30 PM. 12430 Seal Beach Blvd. Meet at tables with umbrellas between the rows of restaurants.

Romp: 10:30 to noon.  Arbor Dog Park. 4665 Lampson between Valley View & Seal Beach Blvd. Driveway on the North side of Lampson between Rose and Heather Streets.

We'll be there. However can we possibly find a better place for lunch? With real food? Is there a Lazy Dog or something like that in the area?

Yes, we can discuss this at our Brunch May 6th.  There is a Lazy Dog on Katella in Orange, but they have RULES. #1.  3 'B's"  Not allowed   #2. NO dogs in your lap.   Where we are now is so close to the park.

We plan on being there and in fact, just received our Official Bandana for International Doodle Day, today. We ordered it off the Ripley and Rue website, pricey, but great quality.  We will also plan on doing Brunch with the Crew afterwards.

We won't attend. Too many people/dogs for me, but I look forward to seeing your photos and hearing your experiences. I hope that the organizer of this event contacted proper  persons and got an event permit for the entire dog park or I envision problems with other people wanting to go to the park  with their dogs, and finding a couple hundred dogs there. I don't know how many dogs the park feels is capacity.  I think Laguna's very large park might have been a wiser choice. My hope is that this event doesn't ruin it for future doodlekisses meet ups. Parking will be a nightmare!

Helga, if you mean going to a 'real' restaurant every time, I see problems with that. People can't arrive at the same time so seating would be a problem; some people don't really want to eat a full meal, just  want to socialize; getting served in a timely manner could be a problem.  However, since you are all going to lunch afterwards, that might be very fun and we would miss going.

On a lighter note, Mr. Humps-alot got his staples out and has only a small section that is still healing. Can you just picture Charlie wanting to hump all the new doggies he meets or Ned and Clancy wanted to organize them all into calm play groups?  :-}

So glad it's healing well.  Give him kisses from us, oh heck give Ned and Clancy a kiss too! Ü

Sassy is still limping so we might show up with Josie only, the least of the looking doodles! Lol  Sassy would go nuts if she had to just sit and not play plus if other dogs are rough housing and slam into her I'm sure it would be painful. Whatever it is seems to bother her regardless how active she is now?  We head out for a camping trip same day so I need to confirm check in since it's on private property. If we don't make it have fun everyone.

Depending on how tomorrow goes at the Pet Expo we might try to squeeze her in this Saturday or next to an orthopedic specialist?  You know the more I look at the xrays I REALLY think the bone is chipped? How in the world she did this I'll probably never know? Hard landing from a jump, from being t-boned??  She still dragging her good leg and the top of her nails are are shredded, I'm wondering if she's having trouble supporting her body weight when she shifts to the injured side?  She's not acting in distress other than favoring it unless she gets too rambunctious then she whimpers and really limps. She's become a lap dogs which I am enjoying, definitely wants mommas lovin.

I have a chipped bone in my elbow.  I fell off the motorcycle - well the bike fell also but we were stationary and not moving. I was wearing a leather bike jacket but landed 'just right' on my elbow.  I has been several years now and it finally seems okay.  How it hurt was when I touched it to a hard surface - like the bad manner elbows on a table - and even the elbows on my bike jacket which has armor hurt when it rubbed.  In other words, it mostly seemed normal.  I think the chip finally moved to a 'better place.'  If that is what it is for Sassy, perhaps it is migrating and is in a very uncomfortable position at present???  I can't wait until you get it checked out.

The boys say hi and thanks for the kiss and hug.....

I think Josie needs a scarf that says I am too a doodle! So there!

Just seeing this now, for some reason my messages aren't getting to me?  Sassy's appt is set for the 12th, this has been a long week and I still have another to go! I'll have to work on a diy scarf for Josie?

Sorry about your elbow but interestingly how you describe it, sounds parallel to Sassy?  I'm wondering if her activity maybe finished the break? Her gate is definitely affected but it's not a hard limp right now,  doesn't help she gets the zoomies and chase the cat and Josie!  Trying to keep her calm but she is going stir crazy!  I'll keep you posted on her appt.

Jolene, maybe sedate leash walks will give her some exercise but won't hurt her more???? until she gets seen by the vet.

Nancy, I'm amazed at how fast Charlie's hair grew back.  Must be the good diet he is on.  I'd like my hair to grow faster maybe I should join Charlie for dinner?

I was also amazed at it growing this quickly. Charlie says you are welcome to come but bring your own kibble. His mama is stingy handing out those  nuggets and he has to resort to stealing Ned's if he can. :-}

I asked them to cut sparingly and they did.  they didn't shave him to the skin which might make a difference?  All of my boys' hair grows really fast, especially Ned and Clancy's faces and Charlies torso. He's almost due for a trim and I'll bet you will barely see the spot.

Well ..... was it a fun day seeing all the different doodles?  How many were there?  Did you all meet for lunch afterwards?  Photos anyone?  Get any ideas for future dk romps? Were the things vendors had fun and interesting?

The BIG gathering of Doodles was very successful.  All the Doodles got along beautifully and the only barking was a tiny white ball of fluff.  Lots of different colors and many hug able  sizes. Raffles tickets were sold with  dozens and dozens of prizes given.  Just Food For Dogs and Barkley's Bag had yummy treats for the Doodles.

I counted about 70 Doodles in the photo but there were many that didn't get over to the lineup for our photo op.This photo was the lineup on the right of the above photo.
