Did our own grooming

Hi,

Well we did it! My husband and I groomed our Emmy, for the first time Sunday. It didn't turn out too bad either. We were careful and cautious though. We didn't take her down too short. Started off a bit longer this first time. Only problem we had was, we were not sure on how to groom her private area. We shaved her belly, but when we worked down further below, I was clueless on, what to do.

Emmy was a very good girl! I was really surprised, she was so good. I thought for sure, she wasn't going to be patient with us. She laid or stood on the table with no problems. I was so proud of her!

Yes, we used clippers. I wish, my camera was working so, I could post some pictures of her! Some spots are not quite even, but for the first time, I think, we did a great job! I don't think my husband, wants to make it a career though! LOL! He says, we will still take them to the groomers, but maybe not quite as often.

Way to go! I'm working on dematting my wooly dood! It's not easy. Good for your girl being so well behaved!

That's wonderful , what a great girl Emmy is. You should be proud. And when you do go to the groomer - they will be so thankful.. I think you took a smart approach - slow and easy - a little at a time. I too groom Koji myself sometimes and sometimes I bring him to the ggroomer - depending on my time constraints..
