Hi!
Does anyone here start veggie seeds indoors? I started last year and I had some success but a rampant mold of some kind destroyed a lot of my plants. Any suggestions for avoiding the mold? :) Last year I watered from underneath, sprayed with dilute peroxide at the first sign of mold which helped a bit but I couldn't save some of the smaller plants.
I just planted today and here is my setup. The lights are set for a 16h/day light cycle, and yes they are in a small storage closet :p The electronics for our TV are stored above where the light is. Excited to see what comes up! Fingers crossed they do well. There are bell peppers, "salsa mix" hot peppers (5 different kinds all in one seed packet) and ground cherries ( I have no idea what these taste like but always wanted to try).

I was a bit late planting out my peppers so no bell peppers yet.
I think I've also been a bit over-zealous with picking my hot peppers since some of them were not spicy at all :p I need to exercise a bit of patience and wait until they start turning orange.
I quit trying bell peppers because they take too long. We have a short growing season and I have a small garden. I need production!
Yeah same here, can't really safely plant until end of May/early June although I'm starting to wonder if I could chance it since I have raised beds.
That's why I'm really loving the picklebush cucumbers. HUGE production and short growing time. The hot peppers are doing super well too, but I may have to abandon bell peppers altogether :p
One of my neighbors has a raised bed too and she planted her bell peppers 3 weeks earlier and just covered them with a little plastic tarp until early June so I may try that. She has some HUGE green bell peppers.
