Which martingale collars are best? I know I want a buckle martingale and I have the option of choosing a fabric loop or a chain loop. I want to start using these collars for training purposes. Sherlock is 10lbs (finished growing) and Noah is 13lbs (should get up to around 25lbs). Neither dog is a puller and Sherlock walks very well in a loose heel and Noah is quickly picking up the concept of heel. I'm not sure which type of martingale to get - any suggestions? thanks!

I would go with the cloth. Chains seem harsh and won't improve the purpose for a martingale - quick correction and a release. We use a quick release cloth one from Premier. The one you have pictured is quite attractive what is the brand? It's hard to find ones which are quick release too.
Hi
The best thing about these collars is that they can't pull out of them and be harmed in any way. I have tried both and I like the chain type best because I found that the cloth one didn't slide very well at all. At best it slid quite slowly which pretty much defeats the purpose. My puppy does have longish hair and there was no problem at all with the fur getting caught or tangled because the chain is so smooth and the links are large.

While you all are disussing collars.... Ned's collars mat his fur. I have tried the nylon quick release and the rolled leather buckle-on. I want him to wear his collar for identification purposes. Any suggestions????
I use the cloth/nylon martingale collars. Adrianne on here turn me on to a cool website that lets you pick the fabric. It is Ragtimepets.com
I bought 4 collars and I love them.

Forget about the collars, I just love, love, LOVE the COLOR of your Doodle's hair. Is it what the color really looks like, or is it the lighting?
Thank you :)
Well it is partly the lighting.Jordan "changes" colors depending on the light.Out side she throws a purple color.Inside she looks like this. If we are downstairs (lighting not as good) she is a milk chocolate color. If you want you can take a peek of my pictures and see the many colors of Jordan.
Did you notice I had to tuck in her ears so I could get a good picture of the collars.lol
I'm looking at these collars... I don't see how you open the chain one?? Am i being blind? I don't see a buckle.
Jordan and Tantes collars look like you don't have to use the choker if you don't want to - it looks like there are 2 rings on it - one to choke and one not too? Am i right? That is definitely a plus if that's the case.
Your right! That is why I bought them besides getting to pick the fabric.
Well, I think that's the way I'll go - there isn't always a need for the choker, thanks.
I really like the collars at www.agilityq.com We like the 2" and the fleece lining is nice. She can customize to your needs. I don't think hers have buckles, but she might be able to do that. We like the tab so that we can grab it quickly if we need a sort of handle. I like the embroidery option too, we have SERVICE DOG on ours and it is helpful for when we may not have our vest handy, or on a hot day. Leann
Hi Jane! Wiggles, Wags & Whiskers make beautiful martingale collars for ALL size dogs. They make collars in gorgeous fabrics with Swiss velvet on the inside and you can get them in a 1" size for your smaller dogs. They have a website with color/fabric samples and a retailer locator. Re a collar with the chain loop...the chain can rub woolly or fleecy hair and cause little knots. Hope this helps. :-)
