my mini Goldendoodle 25lbs was neutered today.  He has a hard cone but can’t eat with it on and seems so sad.  I am thinking of buying an Inflataboe collar but read mixed reviews.  He is supposed to wear something for two weeks!  Any recommendations?

I just went through this with my Poodle. The inflatable collar was useless, it was not big enough around and he could totally get at his incision. The onesie that the vet sold me also did not work, he licked until it was soaking wet.

This is what worked beautifully. The Zen Cone. You can get it at Petco, it should be in stock. It's lightweight and comfortable, they can see, eat, drink, sleep, and do everything except get at their incision. And it's inexpensive. Highly recommended!

Inflatable cone was useless for us too.  Thankfully Riley just left her belly alone so the shirt worked.

My guy weighs 18 lbs and is 16" tall at the top of his shoulder. I got the Medium, the Small was too small.

Thanks for the advice!  I just ordered it and will pick up tomorrow morning!  He will have to suffer with the plastic cone tonight.

I hope it works as well for you as it did for us. Jasper had to wear it for two weeks, too.
The Medium was a little bit big for him, it should be perfect for your guy.

Jasper you are adorable and I like your sloth :p

Jasper says thank you, and can I just say that you are a genius! I posted this photo on FB and everyone there thought it was a monkey. LOL

My bio degrees have not gone to waste, Haha!

I just bought this for our upcoming spay surgery (Thursday) - I am so nervous on how that will go for our girl. Glad to hear this positive recommendation!

Ellen,  I hope it works for you.  We had to go back tot he plastic one as Taco could get to his incisions with everything else we tried... and I had to go back to vet for a larger one as the first plastic one he figured out how to maneuver to get to his stitches!  Thankfully he goes back Friday morning to get them Removed!!  He is a tricky guy!  He is used to it now, but my poor walls and shins are taking a beating!

The medical pet shirt worked well for us but I was home with Riley the whole two weeks ( I'm on mat leave) and she didn't really try to lick anything.

The incision for the spay was way up by her ribcage/sternum so actually if you are home with pup a long, close-fitting shirt would work fine.  I had to use one of my old shirts a few times while the pet shirt was in the wash.
