Crazy Tailed Puppy

[Tom and Puppy Ronnie]

Hi All,

New member here.  We recently brought home our Labradoodle Ronnie (short for Veronica) and she is awesome.  Mother is a poodle and Dad is an English Lab.  She doesn't look like she is very Doodley and hasn't any facial furnishings but has a wave down her back that gets a little wider every week and a crazy curly tail.  I have looked at pics on this forum but haven't seen anything similar.  Any idea how her coat may turn out?

My Jackdoodle had a curled up tail like that. 

Ronnie is very pretty, and her coat is so shiny! She does have what is called an "open face", meaning lack of furnishings. I predict she will look like a wavy coated Lab.

That's a cute curly tail.  What I actually meant, but didn't articulate, was the tight curly hair/fur of Ronnie's tail.

Luna's tail was like that as a young pup.  It grew out long and wavy.

I'm glad you posted these, J. I think Ronnie is going to have a very similar coat.

I think so too, though hopefully not the tumbleweed inducing double coat lol.

My girl, Pippa looks like a small Golden Retriever. She is an F1b Goldendoodle. She has the feathering on her legs and tail because of the Golden in her. She usually carries her tail curled up as well but not "curly" like the poodle. Labs don't have that kind of fur so I'd have to agree with Karen and say that Ronnie will look like a wavy Labrador. She does have a beautiful coat!

Her waves are really pretty. Her coat is soooo shiny and healthy looking.  I met a Chesapeake Bay Retriever last summer. It was soooo pretty.  It looked just like a wavy-coated lab.  I found a couple of photos

I think Ronnie's coat is going to be longer, thicker, and wavier. Like Luna's.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and replies.  Looking forward to see how her coat turns out.  She is 4 months old now so before we know it she will have her adult coat.

These samples don't look like the dog we  met.  Its coat was longer with lots of waves.  It was gorgeous.  But this puppy is a labradoodle rather than a goldendoodle, so my bet is it won't have the feathers like Luna.  Just my guess.  I can hardly wait to see this little one grow!
