I think it would be interesting to call the vets on the recalls and hear what they have to say. You're worried about grain free food causing cardiac issues - which hasn't at all been proved, but you want me to feed this food that has been recalled umpteen million times??? Explain that!
Good idea, Stacy!
I know!
These pig ear treats contaminate both the dogs and the humans who handle them. The article says it may not just be this brand but ALL pig ears.

THIS IS A BIG RECALL ON BULK PIG EARS.
There may be a problem with other pig ears from other sources besides the Pet Supplies Plus bulk pig ears.
Please note the latest warning about pig ears. https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-recall/fda-alert-pig-ear-pe...
Thanks, Nancy. This is disturbing, considering that they are saying to avoid all pig ears.
Yet the cases of salmonella seem to be linked to pig ears from South America.
They are suggesting that even places where the dogs chewed are contaminated. Scary if one gives their dogs pig ears.
Scary!
Our local pet store doesn't seem to have any in stock anymore. I wasn't looking for pig ears but I didn't see any shopping for a bully stick. I guess they aren't taking any chances.
It's about humans getting salmonella, which would be of particular concern if you have little ones. They are saying to disinfect anything the ear may have touched.
